Do you buy something each time you visit as a "tradition"?

We love Disney (of course!) and were just talking to friends of ours who also go frequently, and they showed us their collection of snow globes that they have been collecting for years--they buy a new snow globe every visit as a tradition. My DH and I were talking and thought it was such a cute idea (and we are many visits behind in doing this but hey, it's a good a time as any to start!)...so what kind of traditions do you have when it comes to memorabilia? Anything specific that you like to collect? Just looking for ideas for our next visit, which won't be for a while, but I'm a planner! LOL

My wife buys ornaments for the christmas tree. I'm a pin trader so I like to buy or trade for one "unique" pin related to the specific trip. Last time was the 2012 MVMCP pin. Others were pins with the year. Next time will be a DVC pin I think.

We get the Disney refrigerator magnet. In the form of the current year.

We do exactly the same thing, a magnet of the year's design for every year we've gone. Plus another 4-pack of other magnets each time, we have the heads of Pooh and the gang, Mickey's iconic shoe, hand, shorts and ears, and the same as clip magnets.

My daughter has a Disney charm braclet- each trip she gets a new charm.
She has DVC, Disney Cruise, resort, characters, etc.
It is so full she seldom wears it but lots of great memories.:thumbsup2

My daughter always get a new set of Disney pajamas. She started this tradition when she was four and now she is 28. You can't take the Disney out of her.

I always buy a new pair of ears (ones that match the theme of the trip if available), one thing with that year's design on it, and a new ornament for the tree.

We buy postcards, pins, and we always have a CD that has music for the theme of each trip. Also, we buy an antenna topper based on the theme of the trip.

We do ornaments and magnets, if there's something different or special for an occasion. But our ornaments can be, and usually are, not traditional. We'll get a key chain or something we can hang on the tree instead of a real ornament.

Oh, and my wife likes finding new antenna balls. When my son and I went to WDW for the W&D 1/2 marathon last year, we found a sale on them at VWL and we surprised her with two weird ones.

Now I'm trying to figure out a way to display them somewhere because over the years she's built up quite a collection, from both WDW and DLR.

A pair of mouse ears and a pin of the resort I am staying in, if I don't have it.

DW gets a t-shirt each year but other than that, we dont get anything every time.

Coffee cup and a "year" golf shirt.

Did you know 2011 was the only year that a knit shirt with the year on it was not sold? According to the information desk at DTD in WOD, that's a fact. I asked 4 times that year.

We used to buy pins and refrigerator magnets each time. My oldest son would buy a mug also. My oldest now buys the Vinylation (?) characters.

I buy a mug for every visit in a Disney resort, but that is going out of control now, I don't know where to put those anymore. Either I stop to go to Disney or stop to buy mugs. Not a difficult decision to take :rotfl2:

Also I buy a PIN with the year and every gadget with the cheshire cat I can find (I collect those).

We started collecting the cracked ceramic African animal figurines. We got up to the giraffe, the meerkat and the zebra, and they discontinued them. :( We've been waiting for them to start with a new collection that will fit our earthy family room theme.

My daughter has a collection of pearls to mark the years! She likes picking out a pearl oyster and having it opened in the store in epcot japan.

whatever special pin sets that happen to strike my fancy along with 'a few' dole whips and mickey mouse rice krispie treats:goodvibes. Also pick up a boxful of them or two on way back home thru airport store along with each adult kids' fav treats (chip & dale pretzels, coconut patties, box of candy bars).
