Do you buy something each time you visit as a "tradition"?

I haven't found anything that I really wanted to buy in our last two trips. I did buy two t-shirts, but returned both of them after I got them back to the villa and tried them on. Really poor quality.

I may be spending more on food and dues, but I am spending way less on stuff and snacks. I can't find any I like anymore.

We've gotten into the habbit of buying one of the Olszewski Studios lighted diaramas every trip.

We're running out of places to put them, though.

We do buy something or the other. However, I think my 'tradition' now is the bonus with purchase. I was just thinking how many I have - from back packs, luggage, watches and now the blanket:thumbsup2

My 8 yr old dd collects stuffed Minnie Mouse dolls. (When she was 4, she had picked out a French Minnie as her souvenier...I said 'are you sure?' as she already had a Minnie at home. Her answer was 'I'm collecting them.') She has some seasonal ones--2 Halloween, 3 valentine ones, a birthday one, Safari one (from our stay at AKV), Cinderella, pink princess, and that French one.

My DH likes to buy pins, especially festival ones--like Flower and Garden or Food and Wine to remember that we went to Disney at those times.

I always buy a sweatshirt, a coffee mug and some vinylmations. I used to buy beach towels but I have too many of them now.

A grey goose is always a purchased tradition too!!

We find that we have a lot of "stuff" already, and we don't need more in our house! However, I wanted to get something to commemorate each trip, so we decided to buy a magnet for each one. It goes nicely on our fridge, and they are practical for use. We use the label maker at home to label the back of each one with the month and year of our trip. We buy whichever one strikes our fancy. We're so thankful they've reintroduced the resort specific merchandise, as that has been our go to for the last couple of trips at different resorts. They are easy to pack for coming home, come in a variety of choices, and best of all, they are INEXPENSIVE.

Ornaments and now beach towels until we run out of room. The towels started when my Mom gave me an old River Country towel 8 years ago that she had picked up on one of my childhood trips.

We buy a glass at Arribas each year and have it etched with the year.

Refrigerator magnets with clips and the year or park. I keep finding new places to put them to hold reminders as I remember less and less each year. :)

DH collects pins and I buy coffee mugs. Yes, I have too many, but..

A pin for each park, and when on a cruise for each port. I don't wear them but mount them on a cork board -a separate row for each visit.

I always brings home pounds--the ones from Ghirardelli's. Can't go to WDW and not get a cookies n cream chocolate dipped waffle cone :woohoo:

My daughter has a collection of pearls to mark the years! She likes picking out a pearl oyster and having it opened in the store in epcot japan.

If I ever have a daughter, this will be my plan as well. One pearl to mark each year until she turns 18. :goodvibes

OMG I just saw these when I went a couple weeks ago, we definitely wanted to get a few but our wallets said "not now"!! They are so beautiful!

These are great ideas everyone...I love the ornament idea, as well as some others that were mentioned. I also realized that we do a small "tradition" that I forgot about, because it's not something we have the intention on doing but it happens to be something we always end up buying--a new Grumpy T-shirt for my husband! Haha, he loves his Grumpy shirts and has gotten one in each of our last 3 trips lol!

I am considering this as well! I myself have loved getting one of these almost every trip (I've gotten them either in the Japan store or Sea World with the divers during the few times we visited there), and this year my daughter was 3 and picked one herself for the first time! I am thinking I will do that for her every trip as well...I love it!

We get get a year dated Christmas ornament, magnet and whatever event pin is out.

My daughter always get a new set of Disney pajamas. She started this tradition when she was four and now she is 28. You can't take the Disney out of her.

Love this!!

I get one kitchen item/accessory/utensil each year to use ... it started with a spoonrest, then spatula, trivet, etc, etc. I like souvenirs I can use, and this way Mickey is slowly but gradually taking over the kitchen and DH doesn't complain as much about the house being mouseified.

I get one Vinylmation and a magnet (year)! Among other things! But.....those are my repeats! My DD get a charm for her bracelet...my oldest DS gets a baseball with year on it and youngest DS....well....I get him a Vinylmation too. ;) I can get into some trouble in those shops! Lol
