Do you buy refurbished electronics?

Hi! Do you buy refurbished electronics? I have
Purchased an IPod & IPhone as a refurb and I have had bot
For over a year with no problems. I'm thinking of getting
A Canon Rebel & I can save about $80.00 Buying the refurb.
Just curious to see how others feel about refurbished electronics

For me it is all about the warranty...I had a really bad experience before with not so much a refurb product I bought - but the refurb warranty replacements.

Obviously if you buy refurb expect to get a refurb back on warranty claim, but if the length of the warranty is same as new - then I would go for it. On a Canon Rebel - $80 bucks is not enough for me to go refurb vs new...but again that is extra money towards a nice case or memory cards, external flash etc - so I understand the dilema.

We regularly buy refurbed cameras from Kodak and have also purchased refurbed iPods with no issues.

I have two refurbished iPods and never had a problem. If you are purchasing from the manufacturer and are getting the same manufacturers warranty, then I wouldn't bat an eye in buying it.

I agree. My first laptop was a refurb/lease return from Dell. It's still going strong after all these years!

Thanks. I do need to check out the warranty, I think its only 3 months,if thats the case i think I would rather spend the extra $80...maybe ill keep watching and get an amazing sale.

I've never bought a refurb from anywhere other than Apple but I have always been more than pleased with those products.

I bought both my Ipods on Ebay refurbished. I also bought the Square trade warranty. I have been very pleased with both.

I'm buying my son a refurbished iphone for Christmas through att.. The warranty is only 90 days but I will be buying the Apple care anyway to make same as a new one ( I would buy the applecare anyway.)

DH buys refurbed stuff all the time. He buys his cameras from adorama and B&H all the time.

I love refurbed electronics. Instead of the quality spot checks that a new item gets, a refurbed piece has every component tested. I had one of my IT professors tell me that he always buys refurbed for this reason.

I've never had a problem with any of mine. Newest refurb in the family is my Dell laptop and the Linksys wireless bridge that the mailman brought to my door 10 minutes ago.

I have purchased refurbished Ipod's. I would buy a refurbished computer. But a camera?? I don't think I would. Especially a DSLR.

Oh, I have the Canon Xsi and love it. Wish I had more time to play with it.

I bought a re-furbished Garmin GPS from Amazon. I saved about $80 when I purchased it. It is packaged like new--it had the film over the screen. Very happy with it.

Yes, we do. My DH used to work for T.I. and he said the refurbed stuff goes through more testing than the new. Everything we have bought refurbished, we have not had any trouble with it.

I bought my daughter a refurbished netbook from dell on ebay a year and a half ago and it worked out great. It came with a one year warantee from Dell, but we never had any issues. This Christmas we bought a refurbed ipod for my youngest from apple, it's only been a day, but so far it's perfect. i am keeping an eye out for a good price on a refurbed ipad for me . I wouldn't hesitate to buy refurb from a trusted company.
