Do You Bring Your Real Jewelry to Disney?

Wear what you take, or be sure to lock it up. A friend of mine left good earrings on the nightstand at YC to go to the pool, and they were gone when she returned. If you keep your rings on all the time, then I would wear them. But if you take them off to sleep, or to swim, or to shower, etc., lock them up in the safe so they don't get forgotten in the excitement of going to the parks and stuff.

For one trip I purposely left my good watch at home and put on my Disney cheapie. Sure enough while I was gone my good watch was stolen.....If I were you I would just not worry about it and live life. Whatever happens, happens.

I bring a pair of "pyramid" earrings I bought years ago at the Mexico pavilion for about $5. They are multi-colored with silver and go with many outfits! I also bring one pair of "gold" hoops for the other end of the color spectrum. I don't wear rings, watches, necklaces or bracelets...even at home!

I sometimes purchase some Disney themed earrings while there.

I am going to the beach tomorrow with my mom and in the process of planning, I realized that I did not want to take my real wedding and engagement ring for fear of losing the set in the water. Luckily my local Macy's was having their fourth of July sale and I was able to pick up a CZ and Sterling Silver set for under $30. Now I will say up close they do look fake, but a really good fake. I was not comfortable not wearing a ring, but that is me personally.

On my previous Disney trips, I have worn my real jewelry, but now I am considering taking my fake set with me. I was just wondering if anyone else is uncomfortable with taking their real jewelry with them?

My wife and I always bring our good jewelry with us to WDW. I only wear a nice watch and wedding ring. However my wife brings her wedding ring & pearls and dinner rings with her, her dress watches, etc. We do eat signature and we typically cruise on DCL when we travel south before or after WDW.

We find that the safes are very effective and we never leave anything laying around. So when we hit the parks we put everything on lockdown...

I don't bring anything "real" but that's because I always swim a lot in Florida. I never swim with gold jewelry as chlorine is very corrosive to it.

You all must have some impressive "real" jewelry. I only have a wedding set and the only time I take it off is to color my hair...

However, in the spirit of full disclosure; I must admit, we went camping in June and I went to brush my hair off my face and my ring was sharp...hmmm:confused3 so I looked down at it and the center stone of my engagement ring, a beautiful emerald was gone. I had it replaced and my insurance covered most of it, but it was still a heartbreak.

I will, now, be taking it off to have the setting checked every once in a while, :lmao:but I still wear it all the time
