Do you bring tickets and magic bands?

I carry the original cards from UT which are deactivated on MDE. Once, DD realized she had lost her MB as we exited the Indiana Jones show. We had an immediate FP at RNRC which they luckily honored, since I had my MB. We had to go to Guest Relations and wait a while for them to issue us a card. Were we going right back to the hotel, we would have done it there, but we were taking the boat to Epcot, so needed entry...Now, I always bring them as backup. I can always go on MDE and activate the one we need.

Why are the tickets from UT deactiviated? Did you purposefuly deactivate them?

Never had an actual ticket ever even before MBs. It was always just on record when we checked into the resort and we got cards and now MBs. Never had a problem. I'm not sure I even realized that people had hardcopy tickets until I started reading the Disboards a few years ago.

I bring them on the trip, but just leave them in the room/car. It is more if we somehow lose a Magic band.

We don't get a paper ticket, the only thing we get is a Magic Band so just that.

Only when we have APs, and then we just bring them because you need to show your AP to get the discounts.

I've never had a problem with a MB in the parks. However, last year when we checked into CBR, two of our 4 bands wouldn't work on the door....multiple days and after multiple "reprogramming" of the bands.

If you have plastic ticket media AND Magic bands, always bring the plastic media along with you even though you have linked tickets to the MB.

I often work Main Entrance at the parks and we have a LOT of guests that the Magic band does not actually have the ticketing media on it (even though they say it does). Bottom line, if you have plastic ticketing media, bring it along for backup, as the whole system is not always foolproof.

Just my advice, from someone who sees issues / problems thruout the course of a day.

@11290 Would a picture of the back of the ticket work as well as the plastic ticket media?

The plastic ticket has in internal RFID chip that works just like a MagicBand at the park gates and for FP+ entry.

Thank you. We ordered tix for UT and we bought magic bands. Both are linked in MDE. Yet, I am still nervous we will show up w just magic bands and there will be a problem. We will bring the plastic tickets the first day for sure!
