Do you book more TS meals than allotted in your plan?

I'm curious to know what others do while staying at a Disney Resort. As you know, the dining plan allows for one TS meal, one QS meal and a snack per day. Do you book more than one TS meal per day? I'm thinking of doing so, just do our DDs can have a spot to sit and take a break while eating. Thoughts?

I just did my ADR's this morning and I will actually use 2 more TS credits than what I am allowed on the dining plan just because I want to be able to do CRT (which I got!) and CP when it is released and both of those are 2 TS credits taking up 4 of my 7 that I have available. If you think that you are going to need to take time and relax I remember a lot of places in the shade in both Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. We sat for a while and no one rushed us from our table. This was in the middle of June and the parks were really busy also.

We booked more and then I cancelled a few and added a few. In the end I had one more than I had dining credits for, so I picked the cheapest one and paid for that one out of pocket. As far a shade goes and a spot to sit, there are wonderful QS dining places that are also inside and you never feel rushed. In MK our favorite is the Columbia Harbor House, upstairs if available, great for people watching and AC cool goodness and Cosmic Ray's is also a favorite, love the chicken. At Epcot we love Sunshine Seasons inside the Land Pavilion, for the best selection of food and desserts. The QS location in France also has seats inside, stop there for sure and use a snack credit, great for a mid-day break from the outside. At AK, Pizzafari and Restaurantosaurus both have inside seating. At HS, ABC Commissary, (which now has steak on the menu), Toy Story Pizza Planet and Backlot Express have inside seating.

Almost all of the QS dining locations have wonderful outdoor seating. If you are going during a very busy time, if you eat off peak hours you will never have a problem finding a seat. If it is a moderately to non-busy time, then there will be many tables to choose from to take a break and rest the little ones feet. At the locations I stated above have plenty of seating and my family of 5 never have had an issue finding a seat.

Very informative. Thanks.

I have booked TS for breakfast and dinner each day. Now, begs the question of whether or not I should cancel one TS reservation per day.

I don't but only for the reason that I think I'll forget and not cancel the extra TS. But we find the DDP is more food than we normally can eat.

We will be there 8 nights so have 8 TS credits - we are paying OOP for 5 of them so we have 13 ADRs. We usually have a TS breakfast (character or buffet) then snack around the park until dinner (which is usually TS). So we'll probably use many QS credits as snack credits. Its nice to start the morning with a nice, filling meal and take a break in the early evening for a nice air conditioned dinner (we're going in September so i'm sure it will be extremely hot!) before finishing up our stuff at the parks.

We just figured up the 5 cheapest TS meals to pay OOP for- which are mainly non-character breakfasts & dinner at Flying Fish (can't justify 2 TS credits for that) and any meal that I can use my Disney Visa discount on.

Yes... all the time. LMAO, it's a problem!!

Do you mean Crystal Palace when you mean CP? Because Crystal Palace is only one credit, my friend :flower1:

We get the QS dining plan but we try and do one or two OOP TS ADRs. We love the Crystal Palace breakfast and we are trying Via Napoli this time for the 1st time.

I'm assuming it's Candlelight Processional which have yet to be released.

This is almost identical to what I was talking about. We plan on eating at TS for breakfast and dinner, with QS for lunch and a snack each day. We'll pay OOP for the extra TS meals. Thanks for your reply.

I have 1 extra right now, so I will do the math and pay for the cheapest OOP or cancel my Tusker House breakfast. I am hesitant to do 2 ADRS in 2 different parks on one day!

We are staying 7 nights = 7 TS credits, I have planned for 6 TS meals, one being HDD which is 2 credits.

I'm just hoping the heat doesn't ruin our appetites (we're going in September). So that means lots of using QS credits as snacks for ice cream and Dole Whips ;)

The one time we had it (it was free) we paid OOP for 2 meals at ESPN. We weren't going to order dessert there and were just doing sandwiches. Also paid OOP for a couple of breakfast at POFQ.q
