You have to hear my story!!!!

I didn't sleep well last night and my stomach was not happy this morning. I would have been fine at work, but decided to call in sick and just take it easy today.

At about 9:30, I was in bed watching tv when I heard rushing water. I looked over and the seam on our fishtank had suddenly come apart and 35 GALLONS OF WATER WERE POURING ALL OVER MY BEDROOM!!!! I tried to stop it by holding a towel against the seam.. .it proceeded to rush out FASTER!!! I was hysterical and ran around like an idiot for a couple of minutes.... water still POURING all over my bedroom!

FINALLY, I calmed down enough to grab some buckets and other containers and set up a system to catch the water. I'd say about 10 gallons went onto the floor, and I caught the rest. I;ve used every towel, blanket, chamois, and piece of dirty clothing I own to catch the drips and sop up what was in the carpet. I think I saved most of my dear fish.

Can you imagine if I had not been home today???????????
There would have been some SERIOUS water damage to my downstairs neighbor, fines and damage costs up the wazoo, and my fish would have been dead!!

I do truly belive that some things happen for a reason!

Holly

Holly, so sorry to hear about your fish tank. So glad you were home to avoid an even bigger problem. And yes, I believe things happen for a reason and I believe in fate.

Yes, I do believe some things were meant to happen. I'm so glad you were home today!!

I am a definite believer in things are meant to happen. I am glad that you did not have that damage, and you were able to save yourself alot of expence!!!

When my son was 7yo he accidently put a baseball bat thru my 50 gallon salt water tank. And the water is gushing all over the plugs and I'm afraid to do anything because I might get electrocuted. And all my poor fishies.

I'm really glad you were at home. Hope your tummy is feeling better :)

Glad that you were so fortunate:D :D . However, I'm NOT a believer in fate or destiny. Sometimes, we're all "lucky"; sometimes we're not.

Yes, I'm a huge believer in fate. Everything is scripted. Nothing that happens can be prevented if it isn't in the script. You were meant to be home today to save your home and your fishies. I hope you're feeling better too. :D

I'm a big believer in fate and destiny and think everything happens for a reason...

Eros,

If its luck, should I got get a lottery ticket while I'm on a lucky streak??? =)

Fate, luck, whatever it was, I'm just amazed things worked out the way they did! :D

Tiggeroo- OMG!!! You can relate then! Did it do a lot of damage?

I'm banning fish tanks from our house! We just got rid of one, this one is ruined, so now we're down to two. Does anyone want one??

My tummy is okay... I'm sure this didn't help it any!

OMG! Im glad everything worked out ok,or at least a lot better than it could have. What a mess!
I do believe things happen for a reason, maybe not so much that life is pre planned, but something makes some things happen. ;)

just ask my hubby...i'm a HUGE believer in fate and destiny...i kept telling him that whatever is supposed to happen, will...

glad your fishies are ok! hope you're feeling better though...

Glad you were home and were able to save the fishies, and to maintain damage control...

I don't believe that some things happen for a reason, I believe everything happens for a reason. Sometimes we know the reason(s) right away, sometimes we won't know until years later & sometimes we'll never know.

OMG! We just had something happen and I immediately thought of this thread.
We had to go to visit my aunts so they could see the kids in costume. DH drove and he went a totally different way than I would have gone. When he missed the initial turn, I said to him "Why are you going this way?". Then he thought of it and said "Oh yeah, I could have gone that way." So then we got to where we could see the place where we would have come out if we had gone my way and there was a big accident right there! That could have been us if we had gone the right way.

The same thing happened to us when we were on vacation. My next door neighbor was hamster sitting for us when it occurred. That is why we no longer have a fish tank! My kids keep bugging to set it up again, I say no way! Not only for that reason but it is way too much work and the fish were always dying. I used to tell my husband to save the step of driving to the pet store and just directly flush his money down the toilet! Glad you were there and you saved your fish.
