Do You Avoid Convention Resorts?

I usually avoid convention hotels for non Disney trips because we've twice ended up with a bed bug infested room at two large conference center chain hotels. Giant hotels + guaranteed bookings with few repeat guests can equal poor quality control. But at Disney, all the hotels are huge and mousekeeping is excellent so I trust that they know what they're doing. I hesitated about CSR for maybe a sec, but we had a great stay on our last trip...even though 1/2 the resort was full of glitter-coated cheerleaders!

We have stayed at the Yacht Club several times. There are conventions there too. It has never been an issue, or affected us in any way.

Nope- We stay at Dolphin a lot,and there are conventions there all the time.... the only thing I see is the crowded lobby/hangout area on my way to my room.... Otherwise I don't care.

We had one trip to Boardwalk that was impacted by a really large convention. They didn't impact our parks, but they were out in the evening on the Boardwalk, at Big River Grille and ESPN Club, and generally "swarming" the resort. Kind of got in our way, but I wouldn't let it impact our choice of resort.

I have stayed at CSR a few times when there were conventions going on. Didn't seem any different to me.
