Hi there

Wondering when you go to WDW do you also hit the Outlet malls.

When we go in Dec we would like to but not sure the best way to do it.

We are staying on site, so taking a Cab to the outlet mall would be a considerable about of Change.

Also driving to them scares me, due to the fact that I live in Central Canada, in a very small town, so driving would be......

so any suggestions.

We always drive.. I too am originally from Small Town Sask., but it is not too crazy in Orlando, plus there are a few good outlets to go to. I recommend a car... hop in and soon you will feel right at home...:sunny:

Shopping at the outlet malls is always a blast! I haven't been to Beltz because it's too far and we don't rent a car while we're in Florida. I usually go to the Premium Outlet Malls which are the closest to WDW. The cab fare isn't too terrible ... from DTD it's about $10 and from CBR it was about $15.

Eritouma where in Sask are you from . I am from Cudworth and now live in Weyburn . I have been to many small towns in Sask playing sports.

We always do the outlet malls. That's why we drive to Florida. I'd need six more suitcases to get everything home that I buy. We love the Belz mall. I only ever go to two of the annex's because I spend so much time in them. They have two Disney outlet stores, a Universal outlet store, OshKosh, and a Birkenstock outlet. That's the only place that I buy my shoes because they have full (closed, regular) shoes there, not just sandals.

It's a bit of a drive (20 minutes) but we always go on the first rainy day. There is the Premium outlet mall that is very close to DTD. It has many higher end stores in it. Even at outlet prices it's too steep for me.

You can get to Belz by taking I-4 so it's not too bad of drive if you go during the off hours. Don't take International Drive all the way unless you're there during off season. It's like driving down the main drag at and beach town you can think of during a Saturday in July.

I don't know if it's worth renting a car for and the taxi would cost a lot.

There is also a great outlet mall just outside of Disney on 536 (I think). It has one Disney outlet, Old Navy, Gap, Oshkosh, Jockey and many other stores. That one would be worth a taxi ride for. Can you tell that I buy most of my kids clothes when we go to Florida.

If you have any other shopping questions just ask.

I went to an outlet mall in 1999 that was at the end of I-drive. It had several different "malls" and so many stores. I remember walking across the street to go to another part of the mall. I really want to go there again, but cannot remember the name of it at all, and now it seems like there are so many outlet malls and I don't know which one to go to??

That is the Belz outlet. There are a few outlets on the way to the Belz outlet on I-drive, but when the road ends you are at Belz. :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

After you go through the last set of lights before the mall there is a stop sign. We always turn left there and then right into that parking lot. From this parking lot you can access the Mall on the left as well as the right as there is a small bridge connecting the parking lots. It is these two malls where the Disney outlets are. I can't recall if they are Mall 1 and 2 or what. We always park by the small bridge so that we can remember where we parked and it is nice to be able to drop off your packages from one mall before heading to the next.

Kinda sad, that I have a shopping attack plan.:smooth:

I guess that I will have to wait for another trip to hit the outlet malls.

I really have no desire to rent a car from the airport keep it all week and have to drive it back, just to be able to hit the outlet malls.

Maybe I will just hang around the parking lots and ask people if they could take me with them when they go shopping!

Each times that we go to Orlando, we hit the outlet malls, the Beltz mall and the ones adjacent, although now I like better the newer Orlando Premium Outlets located on Vineland Avenue.

However, I think that the "deals" are not as good or as consistent as they used to be.

For example, Levi's sells Dockers and Jeans at there outlet malls for 2 pairs for $50. Last time JC Penney were selling the same pants for $25 a pair.

I will still go since, when I am in Orlando, I am on holidays and I always plan a day of so of shopping, but next time (in October, can't wait), I will probably go to the Florida mall first.

We took a cab to Belz and it was about 10 -12 bucks. It isn't that much when you consider what you save. There is also a closer outlet mall that would cast about 4 or 5 bucks to get to via cab you can see it from the Crossroads Centre.

Just wondering where you took the cab from

we were staying at CSR, and were told that it would be 40-50 bucks one way to get to Belz

Dear cudworth;

Grew up in Swift Current, now located in Vancouver and the Big Island of Hawaii. Have to been to Weyburn, and that area a few times...:sunny:

Hey Eritouma Swift is a big city compared to Cudworth only 800. When we moved to Weyburn what a shock going from 800 to 10000 now Weyburn feels small.

When we stayed at ASMo in 2001 and used Mears to travel to the Belz Outlets. We did not have a car and so this worked out great. I cannot remember the price but do believe that is was most reasonable. Perhaps in the $25 range - return. They drop you off and they tell you what time they'll be back to pick you up (they picked us up at 5:00 - I believe). The shopping was wonderful. So, give Mears a call - see if perhaps that may fit in your budget.

We were at All Star Sports which is further than Coronado we also went from there to and we took the cab back from Belz to Coronado and it was 18 dollars. We booked with Mears to go also and we were quoted 35 dollars return we get there the drivers asks for the money and we tellhim what time to come and get us and he tells us it will be another 35 bucks we told him not to bother coming back and called Mears they refunded us our money.

Dear cudworth; I did not realize they were that small. Swift is quit large then I guess.... Played Hockey down in Weyburn, Yorktown and the Dreded Notre Dame... Haven't been back to Sask. for about 2.5 years though, but with the recent snow, it is not too bad out here...:sunny:

The snow has been a god send it was very dry here down near Estevan they had double the snow we had they had near a foot which would have been nice my garden is happy with the snow. Its sad when a person is happy with snow in may.

The Linx bus has a stop at the TTC (look for the sign with the paw print) where you can catch bus # 50 and transfer to bus #42 at Sea Harbour Drive/Central Florida Parkway (Sea World area) to take you to Orlando Premium Outlet Mall. A #42 bus will also take you to Belz Outlet Mall. On the way back, take bus #42 and transfer at Westwood Blvd/Central Florida Parkway. The bus drivers are very helpful and will direct you to the correct street corners for bus stops for the transfer. Taking the bus requires more time, but if you are not in a hurry, it's well worth the $1.25 (last year) fare each way. To see schedules and route maps: www.golynx.com

:wave2: from Small Town Sask! We lived in Hodgeville for two years - they now have a population of around 150 people. Now we're in Lemberg, population approx 350. Our first "town" in Saskatchewan was Sandy Bay - 1500 people but relatively isolated. Our nearest "center" was Flin Flon, MB - and that was a 2 1/2 hour drive! Hodgeville and Lemberg seem civilized to us now, lol.

SKFamily I lived in Pelican narrows for a year when I worked for the Hudson Bay I had been offered a manager job at Sandy Bay when I had enough of the Bay.
