If we have booked a table reservation at CAFE MICKEY and when we arrive we find that there is very big queue, do we still have to stand in the queue or can we go straight in as we have already booked a table ? :confused3

I know its a silly question, but i dont want to seem rude and push in the queue :rotfl:

I'm not really sure.... I'd just look and see if anyone in the queue was holding a reservation slip....

Sorry I can't help more than that!

Sorry to hijack :goodvibes .....

But..... What is a reservation slip  Where do we get our reservation slips  Are we supposed to get them for every reservation that we make at all restaurants (in parks, village and hotels).

I have booked our meals over the phone for our upcoming trip and they didn't give a reservation number or anything or mention a reservation slip.

Thanks :goodvibes

You have to join the queue, when we went there the queue was only for those with reservation slips, those without were being turned away.

You then stayed in this queue until you were called, being at the front didn't neccesarily mean you were next to be seated.

They'll be a lady there to take your slip sorting it all out for you so don't worry to much, just ask the people in front of you what they did. Thats what we did.

Enjoy your meal

They used to have a queue for reservations made & a queue for people without. Not sure if this is still the case though

They'll have your name on record so it won't be anything to worry about. You get reservations slips when you book at city hall or at the restaurant, plenty on here book over the phone and have no problem. Maybe they can confirm this for you as I haven't before.

The reservation slip simply had our name and time of booking on it

I think you get the reservation slips if you book in City Hall or if you book from your hotel, or at the restaurant direct. I think (I haven't booked by phone so don't shoot me if I'm wrong!) if you've rang up to book they take your details and it is just like checking into a normal restaurant (Just give your name, etc....)

Thanks for that :thumbsup2

we joined the normal queue and they saw that we had a reservation slip and called us forward

Actually when in Rome :lmao: :lmao:
When we went in March 2006, there was a very long queue and I did go straight to the front and asked, and we were called through, I don't think it'll will be so much of a problem in the daytime, the queues are always most noticeable at breakfast and dinner.
You'll only get a reservation slip when you book at the resort, either in the restaurant, City Hall or at your hotel consierge.

As I have booked mine over the phone I should go to the front of the queue then?? I think its going to be really busy when we are there (lots of DISers are going!), I just feel rude about going to the front of the queue!

We just asked those in front "Have you a 7.45 booking?"

About 6 couples forward all turned round and glumly said yes, so we knew we were in for a long wait!:lmao:

I know what you mean about not wanting to go to the front. One person did that with lots of "excuse me please, I have a booking, pardon, excuse me" only to find that as he had a booking for 8.00 pm he was actually behind all of us.

That is the sort of thing I would do!!

We had to wait in the queue even though we had booked and it was mayhem. We had to wait about 15mins before we was seated. Then again it was very very busy.

It is always worth asking the people in front of you if they have a reservation (or possibly "avez-vous un reservation?" :goodvibes ) if you are not sure what the queue is for.

For example, we had an 8pm reservation at the Steakhouse in the Village on our last trip and turned up at 7:55 to find a queue of about 15 people at the desk - obviously we thought that we might be in for a looooong wait. However after asking, we found out that no-one in front of us had reservations; they were all either trying to make them or get a walk-in (earliest available was for 10:45pm!), so we were able to go straight up to the desk and got seated within two minutes. If we hadn't've asked, we'd probably still been queuing there now!

When i got the Cafe Mickey I went to the front of the line and let them know I had a reservation, they then called our name when our table was ready.

Thanks, I shall do that - 10:45 though!!! I'm glad we have made reservations!
