We are rearranging our plans due weather delays wondering, since we are visiting during low season any way, how important is to avoid MK on EMH days and the days the Electric Light Parade is scheduled? Any thoughts??

Travel dates are Feb 7-12

Good question, I'd like to know the answer to your question too!:tink:

EMH mornings at MK are OK. Surprisingly not a lot of guests will show up that extra early hour. At night it's a different story. It does get pretty crowded, however, if MK is open till midnite then the park clears out a bunch after 10 or so. Also, avoid rides like Dumbo, Astro- Orbiter, anything that's limited capacity.

Hope this helps!

I would definitely go when the electric light parade is showing. It is beautiful and there are many places to sit or stand to watch it go through the park. One of the best places is back by Hall of President, it doesn't seem to get as crowded as Main Street.

It's not nearly as importnt to avoid EMH durin a slow period, but I personally would anyway unless there was a specific reason other than the EMH not to.
I would not avoid Electric Light Parade. It won't be crowded enough to warrant missing out on that!

we never avoid the park for emh. if they have them that day then fine and if not the fine. the emh generally are not an issue there for us when we go during a low crowd time.

If you don't avoid them, than embrace them. That's what we do. IOW, don't show up 30 min. late to an AM EMH and don't go home an hour after PM EMH starts (although either of these would really help us out a lot :thumbsup2). If you want to do EMH, be sure to take the afternoon nap and have a great time. The best part is during the summer you're resting in A/C during the heat of the day and touring at night doesn't require sunscreen, hats, or sunglasses

I have to disagree with this one. I've never seen Fantasyland as empty as I've seen it between 2-4 am. When MK closes around 12-1am that is when pm EMH is the most fun. The only kids I saw in FL (except mine 'cause they'd slept all afternoon) were asleep in strollers. It is THE perfect time to ride limited capacity rides.

:wave2: Hi Jodee!! I figured you would be scrambling to reconfigure your days- you poor (guessing stressed out) thing! I have been dealing with this same question/decision from the get-go with our dates (I am assuming you are talking about 2/10). We ARE going to MK that day. I figure that even though it's an "avoid" day, it's still really low crowds over all. I know my boys want to see the parade, and the only other time that it's available during our stay is Valentine's Day- so I chose the lesser of two evils when it comes to the crowd predictions. ;)

Would it be useful at all for me to PM you what our schedule is? I have gone back and forth on a couple of the parks, reccommendations, etc. for months now. I have decided to go against some of what TG suggests because the overall crowd numbers on most of the days are really low. (Except our one F! day, which I am just going to go in knowing it may be crowded, but it's only our second day, and we get it behind us and it all should be smooth sailing from there.)

I think we are skipping the 2/10 electrical parade and instead will go to the 2/12 one. There's no EMH on 2/12 (although I understand Saturdays are busy). We plan on spending the day 2/12 at AK then hopping over to MK.

Now wondering if you are better going to MK on a Thursday with EMH or a Saturday without EMH . . .

You are probably fine if you are hopping and just going to MK for the parade. Otherwise, the crowds for the 12th are (predicted to be) more than double than those on the 10th. However, it looks like the 12th has two times for the parades, so that may help dispurse the crowds some.
