Do we need an ADR for Biergarten lunch in April?

I might make an ADR, but would rather not be tied to a time if there isn't usually a wait. Anyone know how the Biergarten does for lunch? How busy?

We walked up in June and only had about a 15 minute wait...so I say its probably pretty doable.

Any time you don't have an ADR and you can't get in, you'll know why it's stressed to make them. Why take the chance. You can always cancel.

I agree. There's no cost to make a reservation and no penalty if you don't show up or if you cancel (preferable to cancel, of course).

We had an ADR in June. A couple walked in just before us without an ADR and were told the soonest they could be seated was 4:00 for the 1st dinner seating. The restaurant wasn't packed, but I noticed there wasn't an abundance of waitstaff. Sometimes restaurants can't seat walk-ins, because of lack of staff. I agree with PPs. Make an ADR if you want to guarantee a lunch spot.
