Do we keep the glowing ice cubes?

I think my kids will like the glow in the dark ice cubes, but I was wondering if we get to keep them. I figured we would since the drinks are about $5-6. Can we get them at Sci-fi? Do we just stick our hand in our glass and clean them to keep them?

They only put them in the drink if you pay for them. So yes - they are yours to keep.

They have an on/off switch, and they last for a long time. My DD likes to use them at home and pretend she's still at WDW.

When you pay, the glowing cube comes in a souvenir cup...so you get to keep the cube and the cup. The cup is a glow in the dark cup and its cute. Anyhow, since you keep the cup, too, you don't really have to worry about sticking your hand in the cup to scoop out the cube. My kids loved theirs. They took the ice cubes onto the tub at the resort -- and were very entertained by this the entire vacation.

We got ours in December, and they still work!

Yes! If they are in the drink that you order, you get to keep them! We saw these at H&V when we ate there with the Fantasmic package last trip. My son was so taken with them, that we asked our server about the glowing ice cubes, and she told us that you can buy one seperately (he had ordered a shake, so no cubes in that). I think it cost us c. $2... but it made for a rather nice, inexpensive souvenir.

If I recall correctly, they have these at Sci Fi Dine-In, also in MGM. Not sure where else.

I know I went to Hollywood Brown Derby 2-3 years ago, and they had the glowing ice cubes then. The waiter even showed how to turn them on and off (by slamming one side of the cube or the other). And it's true, they do last a very long time...unless you forget and leave them on

We also got them at Prime Time Cafe in MGM. It looks like just about all of the sit-down restaurants at MGM have them! We had so much fun with them. I even got one!!

Concourse Steakhouse also has them, and since they share a kitchen with Chef Mickey's I would bet that Chef Mickey's has them too.

Two years ago I saw vendors walking along the Spectomagic parade route before the parade started with drinks in cups containing the glowing ice cubes.

Our kids got the glowing ice cubes at 50's Prime Time in June 2003. Since then, they have been stored in our freezer as DH believes this makes them last longer. He may be right, we pulled them out last week and they still light up.
