Does anyone know if members have to pay to rent inner tubes and such at Stormalong Bay when we are staying at BCV on points?

Thanks.

in October and they were not charging for the tubes. ( They didn't ask if I was a DVC member or not) This was my first stay there and I never knew that you had to rent them in the past.

We went the first of November and they did charge us. They took our room key and charged $3 each. I hope Tony-NJ is right and my experience was not normal, but be prepared to pay just in case.

I asked when we were there in Oct and was told yes we had to pay, even if you are a member.. Though I did see late in the day people just taking them

Side note for Tony-NJ, i'm also Tony and grew up in Bloomfield, NJ. Pretty funny. Happy Holidays.

Headed to BCV in 2 weeks. I'm sure it will be too cold for a swim.

We just returned and paid $3.00/each for an hour of rental of the tubes. I believe the daily rate was $10/each. DH and DS8 enjoyed floating around in the double. DS2 was scared and didn't like his at all.

For about $4 and change, you can buy a noodle to float around in and have it for the length of your stay - or longer if you want to take it home with you. We fly down and didn't want to take them back home with us on the plane, so on our last day, we looked around for a family with kids, and offered them the noodles - a random act of kindness!!!

smvdelv - that was very nice of you. We did the same thing on a prior trip to WDW. Annmarie

Here is an "official" response to my question from Member Services:

Sorry, I could find no information stating that our members are exempt from the inner tube rental fees.
