Do we add Cruising or not?

Right now we are planning 8 days and 7 nights at WL in Dec. 2009, and my DDs would love to do a Land and Sea package, but there are none available with the resort we want, so can we just add a 3 night cruise? If so, should we cruise first and WDW second or should we WDW first and cruise second? I'm not even sure if this is the right forum for this question or not, so feel free to move if necessary. Thank you for any advice, we need to go on and make the ressie for the cruise now if that is what we do.

Oh, and one more question, if we do 2 separate packages, instead of a Land and Sea, are we able to still get ground transfers with Disney from the resort to cruise or vice versa?

You can arrange the cruise yourself and still use Disney transfers. Disney transfers are expensive and many people, including myself, always rent a car to get between the airport, parks, and the port. It is often less expense to book the land and sea separately. You should ask this same question on the cruise forum. We always do the park portion following the cruise, but that is our personal preference.

In '05, we did a 4 day cruise on Carnival after our week in WDW. This Nov we're doing a 7 day Carnival cruise and then doing 6 days in WDW. Port Canaveral is very easy to get to. We'll have our car since we're taking the Auto Train both ways. We had already booked the cruise this time and decided we wanted to add time at WDW. In '05, we had booked WDW and added the cruise later. I remember seeing people on our cruise that I had seen in the parks. We figure we might as well do both while we're in FL and it's so easy to get to both.

I suggest going to the parks first and then cruising. The cruise is very relaxing. It's a great way to end a vacation.
