I have a print at home ticket from 2009 - it has my name on it and it has never been used. If I show up with the card it was purchased with and my id can I still use it?

It is a 2 day advance online purchase 7 day 2 park AD 2 Day Advance.

I can't find anything on the ticket itself that says it will expire but I was just wondering if anyone knew for sure.

I suggest going to guest services first off to make sure that it is able to scan. They made need to issue you a new ticket but you will just be given the equivalent of what is on your print at home sheet.

i have a few sets of those 7 day tickets.
they are still valid.
some of mine have expiration date of 2030 on them.

i checked them out in january when i was last there at guest services.

the 5 day ptp passes i had to exchange for new tickets as they were not able to scan at the gate.
took my son with me and had him use that older 5 day pass in january.

i have renewed my ap every year since i bought it back in '03.
did buy about 6 sets of passes/7 day and 5 day, when they came out just in case one of my sons wanted to go with me to the darkside.

the best $79/$89 i ever invested in.

aren't you happy you bought that pass back then!!

I think this is the ticket that we have. We bought them years ago at our local AAA office but never used them.

We are making our first trip to Universal this August.

Do I need to check with Guest Services before using these types of tickets?

Another issue I have is that I bought 3 Adult and 1 child tickets but my daughter is now considered an adult too. Will I have to pay anything in addition to upgrade her to the adult ticket?

Does anyone have a telephone number I can call to check on this?

Thanks so much. This is our first time to Universal and we are so excited with the new HP opening. I'm sure it is going to be mobbed

the 7 day passes will scan at the gate.
the 5 day passes won't.

to be on the safe side so you won't lose time, check with guest services.

i have both of them and they are PtP passes.

i had to go to guest services for the 5 day pass to convert to tickets that would scan.
the 7 day pass was still fine when they scanned it in january '14.

i don't know if you will have to pay extra to change the child pass to an adult.
i'm thinking not a problem and no increase to pay.

my passes are from 06 up to 09.

i had the ap starting in 03 and always renewed it.
i bought those 5/7 day passes for my sons.
i only used a couple of them, still have the rest unused.

Most tickets do cost more to upgrade to the adult ticket from a child's but the 7 day and 5 day tickets were the same price for adults and children so it won't cost anything. The only exception would be if you purchased them when it was buy one adult ticket and get one child's ticket free. They did offer that at one time years ago. As long as the child ticket wasn't free, you should be fine. You can go through the turnstiles without stopping at Guest Services most of the time but since you need to exchange the child ticket for an adult, you will need to go to Guest services first.

Thanks macraven and phamton for your quick replies. I just pulled my tickets out.

They say multi-day 7 day 2 park Universal and Islands of Adventure.Ticket expires 6 days after 1st use.

I even have my receipt from AAA. Each ticket was purchased for $82 each, even the child's ticket back in August 2008. I'm assuming that I would be able to have my daughter's ticket upgraded to the adult ticket for no extra charge. They do have bar codes on them, so they probably would scan, but I guess I will go to guest services to get her ticket changed over. Is guest services right outside of each park where the general ticket windows are?

We are staying at Hard Rock Hotel. I'm guessing that this cannot be done there, correct?

Can you also confirm that this is the type of ticket that can be used on the Hogwart's Express to go back and forth between the parks?

Considering the price of Universal tickets today, I sure wish we had bought some extras.

guest services outside both parks, open 30 minutes prior to park opening.

you can do the change there and not at the hotel.

hogwart express will take the PtP ticket and ap.

yes, you did good by buying your 7 day passes and saving them for a "rainy day"

I'm so glad I found this thread! We bought 7 day/2 park plus BMG tickets back in 2009 and ended up only using the BMG option. The first day we wanted to go to US, but the tickets were being processed in a huge print run, so we wandered around City Walk before going to the BMG show. The next few days we planned to go to USF were non-starters due to mother nature causing tropical storms so 2 days in the hotel room instead for us! :rotfl2:

We'll also need to upgrade our DD's ticket from child to adult, so do I just bring the tickets and a copy of our receipt to Guest Services to get them exchanged?

yes, go to guest services and they will handle it.

when i changed one of my old passes in january for my son to use, we were not asked for the reciept.
i did have the email confirmation on that old purchase

they did find the ticket/pass in the system.
scanning the bar code brought up that pass of mine.
