In grade 8 this one girl one every single award! grrr

[off topic] That is what happened in 8th grade to me too except it was the 2 twins plutoepcot was talking about. we all thought that they should have their own seperate awards show thing and all the rest of the "average kids" should get their own awards show thing.
[on topic] well i am going to go and see the play when it comes out bc i want to see how good or bad these 2 twins are. honestly they can't be that bad or else everyone would have something to say about it. in our school they are known to be performers.

Everyone here brings up a good point. I was actually talking to my mom about joining a community theatre and she said that she would be cool with that. Also I don't even think that my principal knows that I exsist. But yea, I am over the fact that I got soldier two. I will act like I am a yellow/blue soldier and evryone will want me. LOL

I want to see them try out for a play out of highschool, especially if they are as bad as I have heard. Revenge would be great. Unless thier parents follow them and for on reason or another become the director. That would be weird. Like "Look into this now!" weird.

Everyone seems to be putting these to kids down when u don't even know them. u don't know if they are good actors or not and u don't know them as a person. they really are not bad ppl. u have only heard one side of a two side story. i just don't think it is fair to judge the way things are happening when u don't know what is going on.

Please note that it may turn into the opposite for these "twins" in the future. If they are constantly the stars in something, which it appears has happened alot, when they get to the real world - they are going to expect that and guess what reality sets in.

VERY good point. that is usually the way it is. They have hit their peak in HS...it's all downhill from there. Maybe. Like someone said, we don't know these kids. But I really think it's terrible that the school allows the parents to do the casting when their own children try out. OF COURSE they will pick their kids for the lead roles....they are stage parents (which I cannot STAND)!

Go with theatre outside of your school. It's much more fun anyway!

LEAVE THE KIDS ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! have they done anything to u or has the director do something to u? all i can hear is that the kids are "ruining my life" when in reality, they have done nothing. the director (their mother) is the one choosing roles for all of the ppl. and i would like to add that she is not the only one choosing roles in this, there are other ppl invovled to u know.

Ok, the only people here saying " that the kids a ruining my life" are the ones who know them. We are just posting our opinions on the situation. If our opinions are annoying, then ignore them. But we are not sitting here saying some kids that we are talking about is ruining our lives for creating conversation.

the "ruining our lives" was for like plutoepcot and joebillybob not for u. what i was saying was all of the ppl are saying are oh, maybe they aren't the good actors, they seem really mean, when they hit the real world they won't be prepared. if u knew these kids u would know they are prepared for the real world better than most adults now. all i said was the kids really have nothing to do with this. what plutoepcot is upset with is the director, not the kids. the kids are just easier to blame i guess. i am defending the ppl who cannot defend themselves bc they don't go on this site.

Ok. Yea, I'm guilty of saying they won't be prepared. But, yea, I guess I went in the wrong direction with what I heard.

Actually PirateGhostShip there is only the parents chosing the roles. So don't talk before u really know the facts. I just wanted to smash u like that. LOL U do that to me all of the time so do not take it offensive

when do i ever smash u like THAT?? what i knew was the parents were there but there are normaly more than to ppl trying to handle that many kids.

I don't blame the kids...they may really BE better actors than Tedward...I don't know. But I really think it's unfair to have parents with kids in the plays doing the casting. Even if they DIDN'T pick their kids everytime, this should not be allowed by the school. I think it is something you should talk to the school board or principal about, but not in a whiny way. don't be like "it's not fair!" be mature and logical about it, and don't even mention how you always get crappy roles. Say you don't think it's right that people choosing the cast have children that are trying out. It is not fair to the parents or kids either, b/c the parents may feel that if they do not cast their kids, the kids will be mad and/or think their parents think they suck. That puts the whole family in a bad position. You can explain all these points to your principal, drama teacher, whoever. Maybe get other kids and parents involved in helping you, try to start a petition, DO SOMETHING. Unfortunately just complaining is not going to get anything done. If you think it's unfair (which I obviously agree with), do something about it! Make a stand! Make some noise! Make some picket signs! Ok I'm going a little overboard but you know what I mean.

I agree with Mia. Plus there will always always always be people like this. There will always always always be situations like this. Though just think for them it must be annoying to always hear, "Oh they only got the part because their mom gave it to them." Sure I can't see them act, and sure I know people that you're talking about. But whining isn't going to do ANYTHING about it. Just work really hard with the part you're given. Be enthustiastic with the part you have. Show that even though you don't have a huge part you're still excited to take part and willing to make a full comitment. Last year I auditioned for the first play of the year and got a really small part. Just one little tiny appearance and one line, but I still loved being in it. Then when the next play of the year came around I got a lead part :)

the not being prepared for the real world was not directed to u it was directed to who ever said it.

I sure hope your comment was not directed at me.

If it was - then you better read my comment again:

As my comment states, IT MAY!!! I have seen this happen too often, unfortunately.

If the parents are choosing the roles and their kids try out... than yea they don"t want to hurt their kids.

Also I'd love to hear whoever told you life was going to be fair :) Just kidding. Anyway in the long run it will be more fair to you. Because of the reason stated before that they'll go into the real world expecting everything handed down on a silver platter. Now I don't know if they really deserve it or not, but all the same....

don't take it personally i was just trying to prove a point. i was going to use anything that supported my reasoning. and i agree with missgalinda, srry if i didn't spell it right. you said something that i kinda said to him. i said to make it one of the better parts but ur way was better worded. :goodvibes

I've been known to have been the only girl not to have a line to speak in
the musical, "Once Upon a Mattress". Every other girl had at least one
line to speak. I was just singing in the chorus. (Oh well.)

There is a lot of politics in school theater, and it doesn't help that Mom is
the director. If anything, you'd think she'd want her kids to NOT try out
for the plays because there is a conflict of interest as far as I'm concerned.

Of course, I don't know how your audition went, and I think I have my
own acting limitations, too. But like Mia, I did try out for community
theater for a lark, and wouldn't you know it, I got cast! It was one of
only three female roles in a Neil Simon play.

Getting cast in that made a lot of the rejection in the past seem pretty pale.
Also, there were never a lot of guys who wanted to be in plays in my school.
Most guys got fairly good parts simply due to lack of bodies willing to try
out. :)

Now that I'm older and wiser, my new interests are starting to lie in improv.
I might dabble in that. :)
