There are a few things I heard were gone...

Burger Invasion and all McDonalds fry carts are gone from CA and DL, right?

What about the Hungry Bear Restaurant?

Is there still the Pick-a-Pearl place in DTD?
(any comments, pics, suggestions, input on this one would be awesome. I am thinking it will be a nice Valentines gift for DH to buy me and our DD when we are there!!)

Thanks!

McDonalds and the fry carts are gone from Disney.

The Hungry Bear is still there.

And I have no idea about the pick a pearl place......sorry!

Yes, the Burger Invasion & McD's fry carts are gone. :( Now, the Burger Invasion is just a closed building, but isn't hidden like it used to be.
The Hungry Bear is still there w/ burgers, sandwiches, funnel cakes, etc.
Pick a Pearl is still there in DTD, but I've never done it there.

Hungry Bear and Pick a Pearl are still in their respective places. :)

Glad to hear that Hungry Bear is still there, the kids want to go there again, and watch the ducks in the water below.

I am also excited to do the Pearl thing, sounds like a great souveneir!

McDonalds--doesn't effect me at all, as we can get that anywhere, anytime!

Hungry Bear in my opinion is one of the better counter service spots in DL. The burgers and sandwiches are HUGE and for a decent price. My new favorite thing at counter service places is the option of choosing apples instead of french fries. Much better, especially on a hot day when some fruit is very refreshing.

Hungary Bear is nice because it is back in a secluded area. You can sit near the rivers of America and see all the boats & canoes pass by while enjoying your burger & grapes!

Where is the Hungry Bear? Is it ts or cs?

Critter Country. The only thing I don't like about HB is they don't have pickles for their burgers. It's really hard for me to eat a burger with no pickles....I guess I just need to plan ahead and grab a pickle in a baggie before we go to HB! LOL Otherwise we really love it, it's a good CS place with tons of seating, both up top and down below. It's right by the Rivers of America and it's fun to feed the ducks a few bites of bun while we are eating. And it's fun to sneak the many kitties a few bites of meat too. :)

Well, we are home.

We ate at Hungry Bear. We sat up top and fed the ducks over the rail. A cat even came up and rubbed up against our table!
I wasn't overly impressed with the food there this time though....

We did the Pearls too! It was fun. DD13 and I both did it. We actually got pearls that looked exactly the same. They had kind of a yellow hue to them. They were nice. We got them put into the little cage looking things, and bought a chain. (pearl-$14, cage-$25, chain-$10, but they did also have more expensive chains) so a nice souvenier for $50. I told DH it was his valentines day gift to me!
DD was hoping for one that was pinkish, and I wanted the dark ones, but the ones we got were nice too!!

Albertan mom- We are keen to do the pick a pearl too- Were the chain and cage available in silver and gold?
If I can I might bring chains from home (much cheaper as our exchange rate is terrible at the moment )

We brought chains from home too. A much better deal. They did have silver and gold cages but the gold are much more expensive.

Yes, of course you can get the chain from home. We just thought for $10 only for the chain we would buy it there.
