We went when my daughter was 2 1/2 and she was very tall and very articulate, so I felt better having a copy of her birth certificate with me. No one ever asked for it and when I tried to pay for her at 2 different buffets because she definetely ate, they told me she was free if she was under 3. That is actually a great age to take them, when they are old enough to really enjoy it and young enough not to have to pay. She's 12 now so it's going back a while, but I wonder if she'd still fit in that stroller.....
