Do they hold back reservations?

Today is my 60+10 day and I noticed several of my intended restaurants were not available. I played around and couldn’t get Boma for any meal and couldn’t get Ale and Compass to show up for our final day. We are a party of 2 and are looking at Sept 1-9. Does anyone have an idea if Boma is closed or if it’s just a slow roll out?

I've got to think they're holding back reservations. Ale and Compass is one of our favorites (and a hidden gem), and we're always able to get last minute reservations there. I've never seen it unavailable before.

Thank you for agreeing with what I suspected. We’ve snagged Ale & Compass last minute as well, which is why I suspected something was up. Gives me hope!

I'd definitely keep looking. There are semi-frequent issues where, for whatever reason, a restaurant's availability doesn't get loaded/doesn't show up. I agree that A&C is often available, but I would still try for a reservation vs. hoping for a walk-up. I have seen them turning people away on a few occasions (both breakfast and dinner). Totally agree that it's a hidden gem!!

There have indeed been some weird things happening with the system...I've been suspecting holdbacks as well. In our case, Narcoossee's. We'll see how it pans out over time.

Disney IT applications have constant issues. I have no idea if Disney purposely 'sets aside' reservations for later release. More likely, people who previously made an ADR have a change of plans and cancel to avoid the no-show charge. That could cause a restaurant that previously appeared sold out to now have availability.

I'm convinced WDW slow rolls additional reservations well past 60+10.

I use Mousewatchers because we almost always book a couple of weeks out and peroiodically I'll get a number of availability texts in quick succession from one restaurant. Yesterday eve there was a flurry from 'Ohana and Kona Cafe right after I'd booked the GF Cafe.

It was like the Poly was saying "wait wait we want you here for your pre-fireworks meal" after we'd chosen GF.

Sometimes the reservation slots are at odd times like 9:05, that you seemingly can't select from the WDW Dining screens. Muy interesante.

Im having similar issues…I was able to find reservations every day but Tuesday, Thursday and Friday this morning. The other days I could find everything. Those days nothing came up

Something is happening with this, for sure. For our last trip, I tried getting Crystal Palace at 60+5 or something, which should have been fairly easy for the timeframe of our trip. But there was just NOTHING available for breakfast for the full length of our trip. Meanwhile hard-to-get ADR's like Topolino still had plenty of availability. About two weeks later, ALLLL the CP breakfast reservations dropped.

Another option is to try looking for a table for 3. There are very few 2-top tables at many Disney locations so they fill quickly. If it’s a place I really want, I will book for 3 then try to modify/watch for a reservation for 2 guests to open.

I wonder if they do this for strategic reasons.

If the popular restaurants will always fill up completely two months out some people just won't bother considering them in the future. I know since I found out about those subscription reservation services (on Disboards) I started looking at the more popular restarants again by setting up alerts, but searching for last minute reservations on the WDW site is just frustrating.

There was nothing for Boma for our whole trip in August on the first day eligible for reservations.

It seems that Boma is like Topolino's where they are not released at the same time as the rest of the restaurants.

It was released a few days later and we were able to grab it but it is definitely frustrating when you are waking up early to try and grab it.

Yea I think there has to be an issue. Anything for us after 9/7 is showing basically unavailable even just searching for any restaurant available for 12:30pm to see if it was an issue with a specific restaurant. Only like 10 options show up across Disney Springs and the parks for our last few dates. Assume at this point to keep checking.

A few days ago I started making reservations for my Aug./Sept trip, and found I couldn’t reserve other than the first day. I re-downloaded the app, and was able to book ADR’s for the entire 10 days.

I’ve had this happen before; it’s a glitch.

I only show Disney Springs restaurants after the 4th of September. Nothing else thru the 9th.

I checked again this morning not anticipating a change with it being the holiday but it seemed everything was loaded overnight sometime and I was able to get everything I was looking for.
