Hi there!

Both my daughter and my niece will be turning five within days of our cruise. I was wondering if the cast does anything for things like this??

Thye will bring a cake to the table and give the celebrant a special "It's my birthday" pin.

Have them make a note on the reservation and then once on the ship speak to your server or headwaiter to confirm.

The first day of our Wonder cruise (6/20) was my son's birthday so we had a cake brought to our table at dinner at Parrot Cay and they sang Happy Birthday to him. He was the only one who seemed to be celebrating a birthday that day. On each succesive day, more and more people suddenly started having birthdays. By nite 3 at Animator's Palate, there must have been 12-15 birthdays being celebrated. Evidently anyone with a birthday within 6 months of their cruise decided to celebrate it once they saw the cake and singing!

So in case you're wondering, they obviously don't ask for proof of the birthday. Kinda dilutes the specialness of someone celebrating their actual birthday though IMO when everyone else decides to stretch the truth.

Typically the last day of the cruise is when the celebratory cake and singing is done by wait staff in restraunts. The fact that you requested the first night, or told the head waiter you were celebrating, doesn't coincide with other cruisers "getting the hang of the celebration," and faking their own experiences. We've planned our next cruise for six months in advance, and know the celebrating will be done in AP on the last night, even though DD's birthday is the fifth day of our cruise.

We travel every year in January to Florida. It always coincides with my son Zach's birthday. For the cruise, we asked our TA if we could have a kid's birthday celebration for Zach, Lucas and Lynne. So, during a dinner (chosen by the TA) we will have a Happy Birthday celebration for ALL our children.

I know there is protocol for everything and frequent travellers seem to know the 'rules' more than others BUT this is YOUR vacation - so do what you want, when you want..have fun..you paid alot of money for this...as long as you aren't hurting anyone - ENJOY YOURSELF!

Can't wait to have a great time!

We gave DD a 3 day cruise for her 10th b'day. Our TA arranged for her to get a cake even though we were a month over her b'day. She was thrilled and the cake was awsome!

Next week we are traveling with 3 other couples on an "adults only" cruise :teeth:. While onboard we will be celebrating DH's 40th, 2 Masters Degrees and 4 anniversaries. Only one celebration of which will actually transpire while on the cruise. This cruise is to celebrate ALL of those events ...soooo...that being said, a cruise is such a fun thing it is even better to find something to celebrate while there. The event doesn't HAVE to fall on the exact cruise days to validate it celebration. JMHO
