Do the train cars rock back and forth on the Mine Train?

If you can get your car mates to lean into the curves of the ride, it is brilliant. I've been able to do it twice with people who would lean, and it really added to the experience, tilting the car on the swing and then rocking in time in the caves. We were all adults so I'm sure that helped.

Our daughter went with a friend last year about this time, and said that the cars on the train were fixed and did not rock back and forth. I didn't know if that was just an issue with that one particular train on that day, or is it something they have or haven't corrected?

They do rock, but depending on where you are in the train you may not feel it as much. We sat front row the first time we rode it and didn't feel the rocking at all. The second time we rode in the very last car and we did feel it there.

They definitely still sway but it's not that extreme. The back definitely feels like it sways more (but all the cars rock) and the ride itself is a lot better at night. You feel it in the back more because you go faster down the hills as the front misses a lot of the drops because the back is still on the chain lift. Also as some have already said, you can rock the cars yourself pretty good.

And the weight has to be distributed right and left. If two adults sit on the right side and two children sit on the left in a car you wont get the rock.
