Maybe its just me, but it looks like a lot of the resorts are packed for early December this year? Anyones thoughts on whether or not it is going to be much busier than usual?

I'm running into the same thing in mid May of next year--strange...

I have to say that I honestly think the fact that early December was such a perfect time of year to go is catching on. We have gone at that time of year a few times. We always came home and bragged about how "dead" it was, and how great MVMCP was, how the weather was "just right" during the day, and swore we would never go at any other time of the year. I saw alot of posts on this board saying the same things. Then each year it got a little more crowded than the last. I don't know , maybe it's just my imagination, but I think a lot of people are trying out early December.

I always loved the first few weeks in Dec. maybe this year because of all the "bad" wherather?? people having to change ressies etc...

There is also Mousefest going on this year in early December

Tried today to get reservations for Dec. 9 - 12th. WDW Dolphin........Sold Out, POFQ.......Sold Out, POR.......Sold Out. CBR ........ Sold Out, WDW Swan 12/9 Sold Out but rooms available for 12/10-12.

Of course I was just trying to book using room codes (BAT, BAP, EWP, email PIN), so there might actually be rack-rate rooms available. But who wants to pay RACk rates once you've discovered the wonderful world of room-only codes

I always do room only when staying on prop.

We play a lot of golf and just hang by the pool a lot....spending the cash for length of stay passes is not a good idea for us.

We just buy 7 day hopper each time...they last 2 years or so and are by far the cheapest way for us.

I was surprised by how busy it seems this year, too! I'm guessing that a lot of people who had planned August/Sept/Oct vacations have rescheduled for December instead. I hope it doesn't end up too crowded! I was amazed that POR and POFQ were already sold out for my dates.

I'm sure a lot of people going are Mousefesters, but then Dis-Con, Passporter Gatherings, and RADP Meets are almost always that time of year, so I don't see how it could be that different.

Oh well, I'm sure we'll all have fantastic trips no matter what!

Yup--
We're doing our first early Dec trip 3-6. I foolishly tried to book AP rates at a Deluxe, but all they had left were suites. We got POR at 79/night. I'm thrilled (but will still look longingly at WL if we go to Artist Point for dinner...):D

I just cancelled yesterday...Had the $85/night rate. I ended up moving over to Swan for $99/night mousefest....

We were coming in at 11:00 pm on 12/8 so we pricelined the sheraton Safari for $40/night for that night.

We'll move over to the Swan on Thursday AM 12/9. I had to pay $209 for the 1st night, but $99 for the last 3. We stayed at the Dolphin last Christmas and loved the location...So it's worth the extra money to be there for us!

I KNOW that none of us want to pay rack rate, but I just checked on line and most everything was available in standard view at rack rate, (the only 2 that didn't have standard view were CR with tower and above and WL with lodge view and above). Maybe they are offering less rooms at discount rates then they have before.
