Do the onsite resorts ever waive the self parking fee?

We have stayed at RPH once and HRH twice now - only HRH charged us parking??? We are going back for a quick trip over Labor Day ($209/night - :cool1:) and wondered if there is a shot to get that fee waived? Its not a money issue so much as it just stinks to have to pay parking...

TIA

As far as I know the parking company is separate from the hotel. In any event, I never hear of anyone getting the fee waived.

They may forget to apply the charges but I don't think they waive it.

Remember hearing that a lot when the hotels were first opening. ::yes::

Out of all the times we've stayed, it has only not been applied once. We were there for a week, got comped to a huge 2 bedroom suite with club and no parking fee. Not sure how we managed that but it was glorious.

Oh man, that sounds amazing!

We've stayed at RPR and twice at PBH, and we've gotten to pay parking each and every time! Just a line item in the budget now... Actually, I think we'll be bumping up the parking and Bell tip budgets and do valet from now on.

Out of all the times we have been, we have always paid for our parking too. We just factor it into our cost.

That`s what we do too. Just include it in our trip cost and it`s paid for in our eyes.

just got back from PB- we were charged self parking -17.00 a day and they gave us valet parking for that fee.

I tried and tried to find a way to not pay for parking to no avail.
I just reviewed our bill (got back yesterday!) in our email and

YOU ARE ALSO CHARGED TAX ON THE PARKING FEE!
$1.11 PER DAY!:headache:

We stayed for 4 nights and the only way I could find to compensate for that charge was to purchase an annual pass. The annual pass was about $120 more than the 3 day ticket I would have purchased anyway. The annual pass lowered our hotel room rate about $150. It also allowed me to save $20 on each 3 day ticket I purchased for our family and 10% everywhere we purchased anything in the hotels and parks and CityWalk. The only time I could not use it was at one of the kiosks in Universal Studios when we purchased a snack.

I think we saved at least what we paid for parking with the annual pass, so do your own computation to see if you can save too!

Do you free resort parking with the AP?

Like Damo said, no. The previous poster is offsetting the cost of the parking with the discounts they got with the AP.

I'm just bummed the previous poster didn't know ahead of time they charged tax on the parking fee. :(

Tax is charged on everything. I guess we can't go blaming Loews for that!

I'm a little surprised myself actually. Back in Virginia you don't pay tax on services...just goods. Parking is a service so you wouldn't pay tax on it. Good old Florida tax laws but hey...we don't pay personal property or state income taxes so I'm OK with it. :thumbsup2

FYI we were charged $24 a day plus tax for valet parking for every day we were there and we didn't even have a car!!!! Make sure you review your bill before you leave. They took it off easily enough but I am wondering how many people get charged and don't ever review their bill!!!

Agree with pp, check your receipts. We always have a car and valet park. We get two rooms due to kids age. They actually charged us parking on each room even through we were a family with one car. Took it right off the bill but you have to check everything.

We always luck out as we are friends with a manager at the HRH. She gives us free valet parking and a suite at staff prices.

now that you have posted that everyone will want to make friends with the manager, or say they are a friend of yours.
