Do the interactive pins work at home?

I haven't yet tried it at home, but I was curious if something at home would set it off. I think it would be cool if you went to your local Disney Store and something triggered it off.

I bet nothing sets them off. (But TDS idea sure is a good one!)
The store manager I spoke to last night said she had some returned to her store. I'm guessing it's because they were $15 a pop and they don't light up beyond WDW.
And BTW -- I didn't buy the returned ones. They didn't make it to the public's viewing. ;) But I get to buy my own in 30 days! :bounce:

I have one and it works here at home! I'm not sure what sets it off, but it does occasionally light up :D

Just got back from WDW on Sunday...that interactive pin is so much fun! There I was, the big kid of the family getting all excited every time it started blinking :D My family thinks I am nuts, but what else is new? Now I have to check and see if my pin will blink at home. Someone told me that vacuum cleaner will set it off....

at home and then went Kaput! I switched batteries to check but it doesn't work at all or stays completely lit. Touching the surface doesn't work either.

I found lots of those pins on lanyards but didn't *bite.* They're a little bulky IMHO and never once was I lucky enough to see one light up. :( Have a great time on your trip! :bounce:

BTW, if you stlll need the HM music CD check the All-Star. They had them there last week. ;)

My interactive pins work hit & miss at home. I have a bag of them to take Saturday a.m. to my pin friends - we'll see then whether or not they work outside of WDW. It took us awhile at WDW before the pins lit up on their own rather than when we hit/tapped them. It lit up during Fantasmic, walking into & out of Spaceship Earth, & at the water fountain at EPCOT. I thought maybe they would light up during TOD or Illuminations, but they did not.

Judith, My pin lit during TOD (which I hated btw..please bring back ToN....guess that's another topic). When the first and last floats went by, my pin went crazy! That was the best part of the parade in my opinion!

Brise Nannie -- Woo Whoo!! Thanks for the CD update!:bounce: And we are staying at ASMo. What's so funny is that two TDS CM's where I buy my Saturday pins will be there too! One is arriving right before we do. Another is arrivng a few day before we leave!
AND I rec'd the $49 a night AP room rate! More $$$ for pins! ;)

I thought that if you touch them on a certain spot, they will light up? My MIL had one, and we were playing with it here in Tampa, but only if you touched it in the right place. Ok.. that sounded a bit... odd. ;)

Leslie, interesting about TOD ... I asked a CM after TOD & she said if the CM sees an interactive pin, then they will flip a switch or whatever they do, so it will light up. We weren't wearing our pins on our clothes because I wanted to see the pins light up. I wouldn't be able to see them light up if they were on me.

As for TOD I missed the Sage of Time (saw many SOT LE pins still on the racks), but I enjoyed the parade.
