Do t-shirts count as a costume?

Hi, I have tried to find some information on what counts as a costume at Disney World. I have read the guidelines but am still not clear.
My main question is "Do themed t-shirts count as costumes?"
So for example a Chewbacca themed t-shirt (brown with hair effect on the front and a bandolier printed on it), or a rebel pilot t-shirt (orange with the white pattern and equipment printed on it)?
Or maybe a 7 dwarfs t-shirt (colour of the dwarf with a printed belt, beard and buttons)?

To me these are not costumes and are very unlikely to be perceived as such by guests in the park - even children - especially when combined with shorts and sandals!

However, I haven't been able to find anything that says one way or another if this is ok, can anyone help?

My husband wore his Woody t-shirt twice on our August trip. No issue at all. It's the t-shirt that looks like Woody's yellow shirt with the vest over it. He's worn it on multiple trips (it's not one he wears at home).

Basically if it is something that you would wear outside the parks on a normal day, not a problem. Look at the Disneybounding community for examples of what is allowed.

If you want to take it to the next level you could also Disneybound or Star Wars bound. Look up ideas on Google, bounding is allowed for kids as well as adults
