Do strollers really get stolen???

I bought a maclaren for my daughter basically for our upcoming trip, but its WONDERFUL and I've used it just about every day since I've purchased it. Anywho- I plan on buying another one for my 5 yr old closer to when we leave so that we'll have someplace for him to rest if he chooses too. Do people really steal strollers? I hate the idea of spending close to $250 on strollers and someone taking them. Are there ways to safe-guard against stroller theives if they do exist?

WDW is a great place to "upgrade" your stroller.

We just rented a stroller & left it with our backpacks when we went on rides. We never had any problems. Things were right where we left them.

I hear if you tie a dirty diaper onto the stroller (the diaper in a bag) not even the CM's will move your stroller We always bring our own. Have never had a problem jen

We brought our strollers for years and never had a problem. We rented a stroller this year and no one messed with it either.

Last time we went, I brought my Peg Perego & was very worried. I bought a bicycle chain/lock & threaded it through the front & back wheel when I had to park it. Figured someone would notice if a person was carrying a stoller through the park cause it couldn't be pushed. We didn't have a problem, and I'm sure no one would have taken it, but I felt a lot better about leaving it.

We had ours stolen in Animal Kingdom. Went on a ride.....it started raining really hard....when we got back to the stroller corral.....no stroller. We didn't spend a lot of money on it. We actually bought it at the Wal-Mart in Orlando just to take to the parks rather than renting one for 10 days. But it had the little canopy and was perfect for sun and rain. Guess it was perfect for someone else too.

Disney gave us a free rental, but only for the rest of the day.
