Do Sharpies bleed through the paper on the autograph books?

Do Sharpies bleed through the paper on the autograph books? I am trying to decide to either bring retractable Sharpies or pens. I would prefer Sharpie, but if it bleeds through to the back of the sheets then I don't want to.

DD 4 used sharpie in her "Disney brand" book and it worked great.

Bleeds thru just a little, but we did not write on the back of any pages.
Did not bleed thru onto following page.
You get a better signature.
We tried to have the sharpie OPEN for the character to grasp easily.

I'm not sure about Sharpies, but we had a rather unique Guest Book for our wedding that required guests to fill out information on 2 sides of a cardstock printout. At any rate, this is when we found out about Crayola Markers. They work fabulously and do not bleed! You can get the big, fat ones to make it easier for the characters to hold!

Edit: It looks like they make a Crayola marker with a lid that stays attached to it. called Flip Tops.

We just got back 2 days ago and what we did was at Office Max was to buy a Sketch book for an autograph book because they had no lines like regular autograph books and got a big thick sharpie for the character to grasp and it worked wonderfully!!! Didn't really bleed through or anything!

i used a sharpie retractable and it did not bleed thru, but i used a scrapbook pad so the pages were a bit thicker. i did notice the characters were light handed anyways, i think they know not to press hard or they cant so the maker doesnt bleed thru. i loved not having to worry about a cap.
