do 'safe seas' work?

Hi,

I have heard that there's a product called 'safe seas' you can use to keep from being stung by jellyfish. If that is the right name for them, can anyone tell me if they work or not? Where in Florida can you buy them?

The product is called Sea Safe and it doesn't prevent you from being stung by a jellyfish. It prevents you from getting irritated from sea lice. Sea lice are VERY small creatures that live in the ocean during certain times of the year. They can cause you to get a rash, and Sea Safe protects your skin from getting irritated.

I ordered Safe Sea for our trip in April. I don't know if I'll use it or not, but I mainly bought it for my dd who was stung by a man of war when she was 10. I know it won't keep her from being stung, but if she feels better about getting into the water when wearing it, then it was worth buying.

We bought it and used it. I asked the lifeguard who said there were often jelly fish and sea lice in the waters at Castaway Cay, especially in the Spring. I think the bottle says it will protect against jellyfish stings.

The stuff is very thick and you have to apply it both over and under your bathing suit. It also has an SPF-30 so we used it for our sunscreen as well.

I didn't know it didn't work for jellyfish. I've been to CC 4 times and never had a problem, but better safe than sorry, right? I really appreciate the website. I'll have to check it out right now. I don't think DH would be willing to use the 'natural' remedy for a sting if I got one...
