Do Room Rates for First Week of May Seem High?

We are heading to DLR for our wedding the first week of May and are starting to look at rooms. Is it me, or do room rates in Anaheim seem higer than usual? I thought we'd miss the spring break and summer rate hikes, we're seeing $70-$100 a night for places we're used to paying $50-$60 bucks for (we usually go the Hotwire or Priceline route). Has anyone planning to go around this time found any good deals? Is there something going on that week that we don't know about (we'll be staying 4/30-5/5) With all of the $$ we spent on the wedding, we might end up sleeping in the streets with these prices! But seriously, do you think we are just need to wait to see if prices come down?

Which hotel are you looking to stay at? I booked for the end of april/beginning of may and it was cheaper to book thru the hotel rather than a place like hotwire.

We usually stay in the Garden Grove area...usually at the Crowne Plaza. Last March we were able to get a room there for $55 a night and that was during spring break. We've also stayed at the Doubletree over by the stadium. We've never stayed north of Disneyland, but we may look into it as it seems there may be some less expensive options there.
