Do Restuarants Allow Stollers?

I'm planning my first WDW trip with an infant. My baby will be 3 months old on our next trip so he/she won't be big enough to sit in a high chair yet. Do most dining facilities allow strollers just in case the baby is sleeping?

We're not planning many table service meals, but I want to know if it's even a possability. This will be a whole new experience for me so I want to be prepared.

We may dine at the following restuarants:
Boma
CRT
Rose & Crown
Coral Reef
Beirgarten
Sci-Fi
Kona
Crystal Palace

Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks ;) ,
Katie

I didn't see any strollers in any of the table service restaurants we were at in May. I did see a couple of very small infants in car seats on chairs, though. And one in a car seat that was balance on a high chair (that looked kind of wobbly to me:confused3 )

Thinking back, most of the restaurants have the tables so crammed in most stroller wouldn't fit, even if you had it partially under the table. They just really cram the tables in, people can barely fit through between tables.

Looking at your list, I can say for sure no strollers at CRT (it's upstairs, literally up a spiral staircase for starters, and tables are extremely close together.) Also, at Biergarten all of the tables are "family style" which seat 8 people...and they fill every table so you're sitting with strangers (no empty seats at the table to put baby into unless in a high chair.) Crystal palace is also very crowded, and the do parades around the very narrow aisles so doubt they'd allow strollers...never seen any in there.

They don't allow strollers in the TS restaurants. Do you have a travel system with the car seat part? I always called it the bucket? I loved that thing because my sleeping baby could go from the car to the stroller to a restaurant and back without even waking up.

Thanks for your input. We've actually eaten at most restuarants, but I just never thought to look before since it didn't pertain to me at the time.

I know I've seen strollers in some of the restuarants before, but I just don't remember which ones :confused3 . Also, CRT does have an elevator so if they do allow strollers, I would just take the elevator.

For Biergarten we will be a group of 6 plus the baby so I think we would have our own table, since I'm pretty sure they do count babies as part of the group.

I'm planning on bringing a carrier for the attractions, so if the baby is awake, I'll just wear that into the restuarants. But if the baby is sleeping, it'll be a lot easier if strollers were allowed.

We have been able to bring our stroller into restaurants, which we did, especially for our DS's 1st trip (he was almost 3 months old at the time). Some of the restaurants have infant high chairs, which your baby would be able to go in- they're like car seats, or the strollers attached to shopping carts. I think it probably varies from restaurant to restaurant, as well as how busy it is....

We did WDW with a 7 week old infant last Sept. Her stroller stayed outside at all resturants we went to. We used her infant seat or a sling.

Have fun.

Thanks for posting this question b/c I was wondering too! My DS is out of the infant carseat so when we hit WDW in two weeks he will have to be in a high chair or the stroller. He is ok with most high chairs but some we have put him in have been too big. Guess we will figure it would when we get there. :confused3

In April we were at the Brown Derby and my 18 month old fell asleep in my arms. I asked the waiter if I could go get his stroller, but was told there isn't enough room for them. My arm was numb after the meal from holding him in one arm and eating with the other, but on the plus side it was the quitest meal I ate the whole trip! ;)

We have been allowed to bring our stoller in several TS places. Boma, Tusker house, Ohana, and at CP I even have a photo of pooh bent over the stoller admiring my sleeping baby. That said everytime the baby was asleep. I don't think they allow it if the baby is awake.

I have taken DD in her stroller w/ infant seat into Whispering Canyon Cafe and Chefs de France (and Rainforest Cafe at AK). She was asleep every time, and I just told them we needed room for the stroller because I wasn't going to wake her up. No one said anything.

Our youngest DD took her first trip to WDW at 3 months (and she was a tiny thing) and we used her stroller (Peg P3) in some restaurants while others had infant highchairs available.

We used an Infant Highchair at:

Chef Mickey's
Garden Grill

We brought her stroller into:

Hoop Dee Doo
Marrakesh
Le Cellier
Cape May

I used a Pouch Sling at:

San Angel

That picture is adorable! She looks like an angel! Chip (or Dale) looks cute, too!

Restaurants to a degree can accommodate strollers. You have to let the person at the podium know when you check in that you will be bringing a stroller in so that they can assign an appropriate table. I know at the Derby we would either place the stroller between tables off the main aisles or remove chairs and the parents would push the stroller up to the table.

I will say that CRT is a big no for strollers since it is upstairs. Sci Fi is iffy because you are not sitting at actual tables but in a car. All the others should be able to accommodate a stroller.

it's Dale. DD says Chip's nose is brown (like a chocolate chip!) 43 years old and I never knew how to keep them apart! :confused3

Leave it to my 11 yr old DD to show me up-yet again!

Most will not- but i know we did at Rose and Crown- however we did have to wait longer for a table to accomodate our request.

Last August we went with our 3 month old granddaughter. We took our stroller into EVERY place we ate. Here is a list of where the stroller was allowed in--hope it helps.

LeCellier
Concourse Steakhouse
THe Plaza
Trails End
Kona Cafe
Whispering Canyon
Coral Reef
HDD

At the 50s Prime Time we took just the carrier. Yes we had a removal carrier system, but took the entire stroller into all of the above locations without problem. We always asked when checking in and was always told to bring the stroller. The CMs were always friendly and accommodating and it was a non-issue to them.

Not sure if the other posters are posting from "first hand" knowledge or just what they "heard" or observed.

We would've certainly perferred to use an infant highchair and always asked it one was available and still have yet to ever see one. Often babygirl was asleep during dinner--of course she always woke up as soon as her mom put that first bite in her mouth.

In general, they don't allow you to bring strollers in. However, I have brought my stroller in to a few restaurants with a sleeping infant inside. O'hana and Le Cellier are the two that I remember bringing my stroller in.

Some of the restaurants have infant high chairs. I know for sure that Crystal Palace does because I used it back in April when my baby was 4 months.

I was able to wear my baby in my sling while she was sleeping and was still able to eat. That's what I did most of the time. Otherwise, we would just hold her while we ate. I go out to eat often with my little one, so I have plenty of experience holding her on my lap and eating at the same time so it's not a big deal to me. Though it is nicer now that she can sit in a highchair :)!

Thanks everyone for all the great input  .

At least I know it's possible to bring a highchair at most restuarants & some even have infant highchairs (which I wouldn't even ever thought to ask about).

I was only planning on bringing in the stroller if the baby is sleeping so it won't be an issue all the time.

Thanks again for all the help :grouphug: .

I can't see why Disney World would be any different from a Chili's or a TGI Friday's or an Applebee's. I have never seen a stroller in any of those places. But at least at Disney World, you get to have the child in the stroller until you are called for your seat. Sitting waiting for a table at a Red Lobster with a squirming one year old is not fun.
