Do regular discounts apply?

Hi so we are just buying in to the DVC we are just trying to figure it all out before we purchase. If you were to use your points on lets say a cruise and the current discount is kids sail free dose that apply to DVC members or do you have to pay for the kids to because you are using points?

Those discounts are not available if you use points for a cruise.

Also, none of the discount packages apply when you make a reservation using your points at the DVC, WDW or DL resorts. No free dining, codes, etc.

Since DVC is a timeshare, you're not paying for a hotel reservation, therefore you're not eligible for any discounts on that payment.

This. And, on top of the discounts, many times the value you get for the points is more than you'd pay for the cruise/reservation. It's like also getting added spending money for the trip.

This can be great for cruises if you find a good cruise deal like kids sail free.
