Do refillable mugs change every year???

I do believe they now change yearly, as well as having individual one's for each resort.

Also, I'm glad to see that the classics are still around (mugs, golfcats, fires, and peacocks oh my!)

The only change I saw between the 2007 mugs and 2008 mugs is that they no longer have the year on them.... same graphics.... just no year?!?

When we stayed at FtW a few weeks ago I asked about the 2008 mug (I was prepared to buy new ones) and the kid showed me the same mug as 2007. I even commented to him about the graphic being the same (I didn't immediately see there was no year on it - but was already thinging....hmmmm.... I can scratch the year off of mine). Then he actually said "Yeah, not too smart - anyone with 2007 mugs can scratch the year off!" Was there an echo in there???? So, maybe someone who has been at FtW since 1/20 will have an update.

Also of interest - - - until further notice they are still honoring the good ol' brown & tan Ft.W mugs. Apparantly, they originally sold them as "lifetime" mugs and some guests called them on it. My brown & tan's are so old that I honestly don't remember if I purchased them as length of stay or lifetime. But from now on, they're "lifetime"!!;)

Peacocks will never die. OH MY, I think you missed all the otter spotter stuff though didn't you??? des1954 better fill him in. Otters are much better then peacocks. :thumbsup2

Oh no, I was around right when the otter stuff started, in fact, I did some otter spotting while I was there during Thanksgiving ;)

And yes, otters are much cuter than peacocks. But that's about it :P

Glad you didn't miss it. Wasn't sure about the timing. Time goes by so quick it is easy to lose it.

Sorry to get off track of the soda mugs but if I started another post on otters Rhonda would kill me. :worried:

:offtopic: :offtopic: :offtopic: Hey I never noticed these before. They don't look like a very friendly off topic guy though. Looks like he is mad. :rolleyes1 Sorry my mind wanders so easily some days. I am caught up in trying to get a new motorhome and that is all I can think about right now.

Ok, I'll put us back on topic (is that a first :rotfl2: )

Where do you fill your mugs up at the Fort? Is it Trails End?

Yes, it's at Trails End.

Funny thing, we left our "lifetime" mugs at home (on purpose because I wanted the new ones)...anyway while I was refilling my brand new "all resort" mug, a lady beside me looked at me strange (she still had the old FW mug) and practically accused me of using the wrong mug :confused3 I explained to her these were the new mugs and the one she is using is (as I politely put it), is the discontinued one :rolleyes1

Ok--well we got ours July 2005--its kind of tan with Mickey, Donald, and Goofy around a campfire--roasting Marshmallows (or is it mEllows--never quite sure)--anyway. Poor Donald's are on fire--that Donald! I don't think there's a date on it.

I guess what I really want to know without sounding too cheap is--can we re-use them? Are there soda mug police watching?? I never really noticed anyone paying attention other that the day we bought the mug.

If its a whole new design, I would probably go on and buy a new one as its one of the cheapest souveniers we bought, but...the thought of saving 35.00 or 40.00 is appealing...

Mug police :rotfl2: mostly on these boards. It is a whole new design but if you're asking "can I use the old one and get away with it?" my answer would be "most likely." If you're asking, "would I be breaking any rules?" then my answer would be, "I don't know, the CM didn't tell me otherwise." Others would say "yes because there's a sign posted." Me, I have yet to see the sign. :)

Yep, that's the original one!

You can still use these at FtW.
No, I've not seen any "mug police" - just a bunch of rabid otters who are always trying to start something with the peacocks!

If you want to buy the "new mug", they are good at all the resorts, but not the theme parks.

My "lifetime" mugs have the same Mickey campfire design, but a different shape. The have a larger diameter, won't fit in a cup holder, and have a removable bottom. We bought them about 10 years ago. I have seen "lifetime" ones prior to that with the FW logo.

You can still use the old tan mugs. We were there just a few weeks ago and many campers still use them. We never have been questioned so I would not worry.

As mentioned before only the "mug police" on these boards will argue the fact. I think the mug police are the same as the fast pass police who say you can not use the Fast pass after the ending time on the ticket....

I use my mug that I bought 2 years ago and have no problems. As far as theft goes at WDW, I have read where if someone goes into a gift shop and walks out with something they will either tell the person they forgot to pay or not do anything at all because they don't want the scene.

As far as fastpass goes, I got a handful of em that I get when we leave the park for the day to use next trip. I've had a few CM's say they're expired but not many. I think only on Everest. As long as it's during the time on the ticket or after you're fine. It's those wascly otter's that try to go back before the re-enter time that get busted.

I wouldnt' know. In Gatordad land, they haven't changed.:lmao: :cool1: :rotfl2:

OT--but reading your responses...where exactly are the afore mentioned otters in Fort Wilderness...and did they put peacocks back in? I thought they moved them all.

Hey Stack...I will give you 4 4:30pm's for 4 10:30 am's.....:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We actually had to rebuild when they changed the type of paper they used.
