One of the teachers I work with just left on a maternity leave. The substitute that came in for her is about 70 years old and loves to bake. Since she has no one at home to bake for she brings it all in here!!! I usually try to avoid the teachers' room but today I had to go in and rinse out a cup. Sure enough there was a tray full of homemade cookies. I grabbed 2 and walked back to my room. I ate one and then after a while of letting the other one sit there I tossed it into the garbage. UGGHHH!!!!!

Does this happen to you?

Good for you for throwing the other cookie into the garbage. Hooray for you :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I think the worst at my work is the "fundraising" stuff. I am usually pretty good about avoiding stuff, but when it's chocolate covered almonds, I cannot help myself. And I've tried counting them out, and only eating so many and counting the points ... it only works for the first time I open the box. The next time I take it out, I just finish the whole thing

Stay strong, my friend ... you're my inspiration today !

I'm proud of you for throwing that second cookie away!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: I would probably have eaten it and regretted it for the rest of the day!!

I can totally sympathize with you. It's like the Grand Central Station of goodies around here!! There's always some kind of cookie, cake or candy in the break room staring at me when I go in there. I try to avoid it as much as I can, but sooner or later you gotta go in there (I keep my bottled water in the fridge in there)! Arrrrggggh!:crazy2: I do pretty good most of the time, but every now and then there is something that tempts me so much I just can't resist.

I know it is hard!!! Most of ya'll know my situation with working in a school lunchroom. It has been easier since I was the cashier but now since I was promoted I will be right back in there being around all that good food!!!

I don't work outside the home so I don't face this problem. My sil, is always complaining about her coworkers keeping lots of off plan foods at the office.

She's on Atkins and her coworkers aren't but she has a stock of Atkins friendly treats that she keeps available for those days when others are eating cake and cookies :)

Every once in a while, the whole building has a little celebration here. For instance, tomorrow we are celebrating Fat Tuesday. We all dress up and lots of people bring in food to go with the theme. I'm sure there will be king cakes and hot cross buns, plus lots of cookies and cakes........ I am planning to make my FF banana bread. At least myself and a few others who are on WW can have a nibble and still stay OP. But I'm sure its gonna be REAL tuff to avoid all the other temptations!

Good for you for resisting the urge on the second cookie!:Pinkbounc

Good for you for avoiding the second cookie! ::yes:: I dread "birthdays" where I work as tradition has it that you bring in goodies for the entire office. Well with about 40 office employees that means there always seems to be food in the lunchroom. In addition you have vendors who bring doughnuts, people who just like to bake, etc. It makes it hard to stay on plan but I can say I have not had ONE treat since August when I started. After so long without having anything I can ignore whatever is in there pretty well but the easiest way is just to avoid it all together!

I work with a bunch of women who constantly bring in homemade goodies, especially Italian goodies. I keep Atkins bars in my desk because it's all the time! They make awesome stuff, and they feel insulted if you don't have some. They have let me slide since the surgery, lol, but this stuff is mouth-watering.

Also, we have monthly staff meetings where the director brings in bagels, cream cheese, donuts, and fruit. These people are food obsessed!

I have a book called "The Complete Book of Food Counts"....it's a book that lists the nutritional info on just about any food you can imagine. It's a GREAT motivator to help me by-pass any of those "diet buster" foods. Just flip thru the pages, read some of the OUTRAGEOUS calorie and fat contents in those goodies, and chances are good that you'll decide that they simply aren't worth it! :crazy2:

Thank goodness I just joined the challenge - some kind and generous soul brought in King Cake today and it looks AWESOME. :(

Nothing tastes as good as thin feels, nothing tastes as good as thing feels, nothing..... :)

I'm always repeating that to myself also!!!!
Sometimes with a bit of a harsh voice LOL:tongue:

They can bring it in, but only you can put it in your mouth!
