do people wear Mickey ears on the cruise much?

It's not a bummer
No one is going to be weirded out by anyone wearing ears , it's just not legions of ear wearing people traversing the halls. If I had ears I wanted to wear on board I would. It will be totally accepted. The OP was just asking if lots of people do it and more people and little ones tend to dress up as compared to the parks. :thumbsup2

:upsidedow well, that's a bummer. I guess I'll bring them and scope it out. Or wear them on pirate night.
But I don't want to be that one weirdo adult. LOL!!!! I don't like to stand out.

I wore them and could careless if anyone else wore them. I don't buy clothes hoping someone has on the same thing. So, I didn't bring my ears hoping someone else would have them on too. DS and I looked adorable and I have a priceless memory of the two of us in our Mickey and Minnie ears. That cruise was about US and not a bunch of strangers we will most likely never see again in our lifetime. I didn't think twice about whether or not anyone else would wear them.

I say, wear what you want to wear and to heck with what other people think!

Thanks, they're pretty excited about them! Wish I had thought to make them beforehand and they could have worn them to go see the movie too!

Right after our Disney wedding, we boarded the Dream for our honeymoon. We were wearing bride/groom ears and didn't see hardly anyone else wearing ears. Of course, that didn't stop us!

It's noticeably and considerably less than at the parks.

I don't remember seeing anybody wearing them. But, it would be cute and you would get a lot of smiles. I probably wouldn't wear them in ports, though.

But, dh and I always wear different Disney shirts everyday on the cruise!

I have to side with the people who said they haven't see many people wearing the mickey ears. However, I also agree that you would definitely not look out of place as most everyone on the DCL cruise is a fan of Disney.

My experience is that not as many people wear Mickey ears on the ship -- but there are always some. I think part of the reason is that they don't sell a big variety on board the ship and second, the ship is moving. If you are going to be on an open deck for any part of the day (and usually it starts with walking to the buffet in the morning) it's a pain to have to hold onto your ears. I think the majority of time we see people with any type of ears, tiaras, etc. is for dinner. But whatever you decide, you will not be out of place.

If you think you will be uncomfortable, think about this -- the servers in the dining rooms often make hats out of the napkins (they do this a lot for the character breakfasts but am seeing a lot more of this at other meals). On our last cruise, servers in the three stations surrounding ours made napkin hats for every one at all their tables - about 40 adults, 3 teens and 2 children. Not only did these adults wear them (happily) all through dinner, 98% of them walked out of dinner wearing them.

I don't mind the "Mickey Ears" - and the pictures in this tread have several really cool ones - you guys are really creative!!!

But please don't wear them in the theater (unless you are short), I'm tall (and try to scrunch down in my seat so people behind me can see) and have to work to see around those darn ears in shows at WDW/DL and on the ship - does not make for a pleasant viewing experience (and makes me Mr. Anger(y))

I haven't seen them worn much on the cruises (not like WDW) but it wouldn't stand out or seem odd either, if that's what you would like to do. Lots of people dress up and wear costumes, etc - princesses, prince charmings, super heros, tiaras, pirates - pretty much anything Disney/Marvel goes!

We did not see anyone one wearing them on our cruise. I wouldn't let that stop me-go for it! I wore a Sari on formal night some friends from India brought me. I had more compliments that night- be unique, be true to yourself and enjoy!
