Do people still decorate their doors and windows?

We're staying at ASSp in September. We haven't stayed in a value in a long time and was wondering if people still decorate??

It's one of the first thing she does every trip - and now that my DD goes down with her DH, they almost compete against each other when we stay at POP!!!They have Halloween stickies, lights run by timers, everything!! They have banners, and all kinds of draped stuff on it. And yes, when they take it down at the end of the trip we bring it home for the next year!!:rotfl2: One morning I pulled the curtain back and saw bats that made me jump!!!:rotfl:

Oh yes. We saw lots of decorated windows at Music last October for Halloween and also a few Happy Birthday type themes.

For that matter we saw that at POR last month, one of our neighbors was celebrating their dd's sweet 16 and had a really cute window theme going for that.

Oh how fun! We are going 9/22 - 9/26 for DD's 6th birthday. Is that too early to decorate for Halloween? Now I need IDEAS!!!

You could make little orange pumpkin Mickey heads on paper and have kids (assuming you have some) decorate their faces, or Mickey ghosts too. We always bring Window Writer markers from Michaels and write on the windows too, it washes off real easy with water and elbow grease the day we leave.

If you live near a Home Depot you can get the Mickey head paint samples to make garland. This is what we did the last two years. You cut around the Mickey heads then tape ribbon to the back of them. The garland can hang horizontial or vertical, make them as long or as short as you need. We used the magic removeable tape and stuck it to the window frame itself-no issues pulling it off!
We used black and orange Mickey heads to make garland and used a sharpie to write MNSSHP on them. We have also used Gel Gems to decorate our windows. They are a little pricey so we go for the knockoff brands at Walgreens! :thumbsup2
Good luck! Have fun decorating!

Hey this is really quite an interesting forums post about on Garland making, I really liked it out a lot as it seems to be really quite an interesting and a fabulous one..great works

Since we were deluxe fans, before the economy slump, we decorated our window so we could spot our room from the outside.

Now we are staying at POFQ - looks like a very nice moderate for us - we will decorate our window so we can find our room easier.

We go just before 4th of July. - so I am not sure about just an American flag - since most rooms will have one.
Any suggestions of what type of window clings we should get ?

This was my window on my last trip. My lime green Mickey with the phrase "Do You DIS" is on the top left side of the window. To make the large Mickey heads with the villians in them, I got different fall colored Mickey head paint samples from Home Depot, scanned them into my computer and made them larger in size, then pasted a villian in the middle of it, then printed them out and laminated them.
