Do people screw up your name?

Constantly. Last name is long and italian so it goes without saying that it gets slaughtered! My first name is Leann and I get Lena, Lean (?? not sure what that's about), Linda, Lyn etc. Even the IRS has gotten it wrong on a refund check, they made me a guy, Len!

My name is Suzanne and I go by Sue. Lots of people call me Susan. Not my name so I usually don't answer. Wouldn't mind going by Suzanne, but at 39 there is no use going back.

:rotfl: ALL the time! My name is Reynic and I can count on my fingers the times that anyone has gotten it right. I guess I can blame my inventive mother for that one. I work with people I have known for years and they still don't get it right. Some just don't listen :confused3

Yes! My name is Sasha, not sacha, sascha, shasa, schasa, or shasha...

furthermore it is not pronounced SHASHA...that drives me crazy!

Nor is it tasha, natasha, nasasha or Sandra!!!

Phew....got that vent out of my system now :sunny:

ETA: And it's definitely NOT Saskia!

Are you really a SASHA or ALEXANDRA?? I know Sasha is a nickname for Alexandra or Alexander in Russian. Just curious!

My great grandmother (aged 89) gave me a card for my 21st with it's own personal poem (she didn't write it!) and the card and the poem were addressed to SASHIA!

i'm sasha, but a Russian friend once insisted it was Alexandra and made me bring him my birth certificate to prove it wasn't (as if I wouldn't know my own name!!!)

People mispronounce our last name. DHs' family name is German and the family pronounces it as they would in Germany. Most people want to pronounce it with American vowel sounds instead. It doesn't bother me but it drives DH nuts. He will embarrass people if they mispronounce it....and I don't like that!

My name is Jodie, Not often mis-pronounced but very regularly mis-spelt!

I have a work friend called Lesondra ('Les - sondra'), We have great fun with mis-interpretations of that!

:flower:

Jodie

OMG all the time!

When I use my name shortened, it's Candy but I always get Cindy, Sandy, Mandy, Cathy....geez! Candy is pretty simple! Don't 'cha think??? I think it's rude people who don't pay attention or listen to when you say your name. :wave2:

My daughter has her name messed up all the time. It's Gillian. Are last name is a nightmare. So that is another one that they mess up.

I am Laurie, but get called Lori a LOT. My parents honestly thought they were being so original, but I graduated with 7 Laura/Lara/Laurie/Lori/Lorries. I guess people think as long as they get something close it's okay.

My DD1 is Elizabeth and is called that. There's a couple of people that like to call her Lizzy and she hates it. And, BrerLizzie...please don't take offense...but we have friends who have a rottweiler named Lizzy so that's all we can think of when we hear that! :rotfl: DH gets kind of upset when people call DD Lizzy, saying "No one's gonna call my daughter a rottweiler!" :rotfl:

Laurie :)
