Do people *really* plan their counter service meals?

Maybe I'm crazy but for CS meals I just plan on "eating whatever is available when we get hungry". Do a lot of people really plan CS with the park tour?

Just curious.

We don't really 'plan' our CS per se, but we do know where we want to eat... thanks to this site, I could reel off every CS in every park, so I know where is 'good' and where is not so good.

Like you, just depends where we're hungry. I wanted to do Pecos Bill last time cos I heard the burgers were good - we were starving in Tomorrowland and so decided to go to Cosmic Rays.

So yes and no, in a way.

Ditto the PP. I know which places I'd like to eat CS over others, but I don't make definite plans until we're in the park. I've found this board very helpful to find good CS that I probably wouldn't have tried otherwise.

I do actually kind of plan where I'm eating because I usually have a loose plan of how I want to tour a park. I try to estimate where will be and make a note of what's nearby and what they have.

My kids thrive on organization and plans so they like me to say. Today we are going to MGM and we are going to eat at Rosies and Pizza Planet.

It just depends on your personal style. What ever works for you!

We plan some of our CS. We LOVE the Anchors Aweigh sandwiches at CHH at MK, so we already know we'll eat there for lunch. It does seem a little over the top though, I guess.

I think most do. We always have to go in the summer when it is really busy so planning everything in advance makes for less stress when we are there. I already know which park we will be going to each day, so I don't think it's too much effort to ask for recommendations and check out the menus. I keep a list of the CS restaurants we want to go to (2 or 3 options for each park). That way if we find ourselves in a different area than we had planned to be in when it's time to eat, there will be something I think we might like close by.

I kind of do because my 5 yr old has texture issues. I know basicly what is on every menu and where he will not have a problem....and take if from there

We dont plan CS meals, if we get hungry we go grab something

Being veggie, I have to. I made a list of what the veggie options where at each CS place so that when I got hungry I could suggest a place that had options for me.

I am anal. I plan EVERYTHING!! I have planned our CS meals for our trip in November!! I will be flexible though:goodvibes

I preview the menus for each park and know what our options are...but don't pick the actual CS restaurant until we are there.

I'm planning it just because I don't want to miss out on what sounds go yummy ahead of time. Figaro Fries at Pinocchio's Village Haus - look SOOO GOOD!! I don't want to go home saying, "darn it, I wish I could have tasted that!" I love food though and I'm weird like that!!

We make a list of the places we would want to eat at. that way when we get hungry we can go to the closest of the list of places we would like.

As far as planing my day so that we end up at a certain counter luch at a certain time. No never.

I never have in the past but next trip we are trying Figaro Fries so I am planning that one :cutie:

to some degree. I printed out menus for the higher rated CS locations this past year. My wife and I looked over the menus on the way down to determine which we would go to. We did not decide that on a particular day and time we would go to a particular CS restaurant, but we knew generally which ones we wanted to go to and what was on the menu. When it came time to eat we decided which to go to based on where we were and what we wanted to eat.

yes - i pick out the best rated ones and go from there. but we usually have a list of 4 or so and then wherever we are around lunch time eat there.

we also go with the flow - were feeling really burnt out at the MK on our second last day, so took a little unplanned boat ride over to the grand floridian and had our CS meal there. (highly recommend doing this!! it was so relaxing and peaceful!!)

I always plan my CS meals. Like some others said, I have a general idea of where we will be at certain times of the day. After being to wdw several times, we have our favorites so we just plan in advance.

We don't plan exactly where we are going to eat, but it helps to know what kind of food different places offer and where they are. I know we'll eat at Flametree Barbecue when we go back to Animal Kingdom because my boyfriend loved it, and wanted to know if we could get reservations there when we were planning our table service ADRS! I also know we'll probably stop at Pizza Planet at the Studios either for a meal or just a slice for a snack, cause my boyfriend wants to be able to say he's been there! I'd like to try the Yakatori House at the Japan Pavillion because you can get sushi as a cs!

I'm sure alot of people have places in mind that they've been before and really liked and would like to go back to as well!

somewhere different on every trip so we can say we've eaten at every CS and TS. Only we missed our chance for the ones that closed like Concourse at CR. Boo, I wish we had really gone there!

The only repeat is Crystal Palace for breakfast because we love it.

We might repeat Cosmic Ray's because Dh and middle DS loved loved loved the rotisserie chicken.

We'll be there two days so we can do a new CS lunch on the other day!

Anyway we only plan for something different. We have a general idea going in but that's flexible.

I write down where I think we'll go anyway because I like my Passporter filled out!

Ive already go our counters picked out for our December trip. Its really not that big of a deal. We've already eaten at most of them and know what we like and what we dont. We have certain new places we want to try. That really narrows the choices down to one of two places. The only day I have open is the afternoon in World Showcase. We already have 2 sit downs scheduled there other nights, but its my first chance to eat around the world and Im having a hard time narrowing it down.
