Do pairs cheat by using the single-rider lines?

From my understanding, there's no guarantee that you'll be seated together, but it seems kinda cheaty to use the single rider line when you aren't actually a single rider.

I'm not sure how it's cheating? We use the single rider all the time. Most of the time we get split up. Sometimes we have been in the same car for Test Track (or Radiator Racers at DCA) but still split up as we are in separate rows. Single rider only means you're willing to be split up. Anyone can use it as long as children are over the age where they can ride alone.

For instance, when we rode Test Track, we had two rows of 2. A pair of people who were together filled in the two single spots. They could have ended up in separate cars. But because having pairs of people isn't uncommon there, it's not uncommon for the car to end up being really three sets of 2, one set of which is not side-by-side.

Thanks...I just didn't see it from that perspective. Everyone's mind works differently, but after reading the more constructive responses, I now understand the concept.

I understand where you were coming from. We do single rider all the time and are happy to split up. It's a good way to be able to do rides that have long lines if you can't get FP. We have done Radiator Racers 5 times in one hour by using single rider. Once we were in the same car, every other time we were split up. The time had a 90 minute wait for standby and 30 minute wait for FP.

My boyfriend and I ALWAYS opt for the single rider line where it exists. We know that odds are we're not gonna be seated together or even near each other and we don't expect to.

Single rider line is for anyone willing to ride single! There are only 3 attractions that offer this and the CM's make it very clear that even if you enter as a group you will not be riding with them. The single rider line is separate from the other lines so the CM's know to use this line as fill ins.

There is no requirement or restriction as to who uses the single rider line except that you must be over 7 and are ok with filling in random available seats with others.

We use it all the time on EE and occasionally on TT but rarely on RnRc.

My friend & I did single rider for Test Track last week, we were in separate cars. She didn't want to do Everest at AK, so I went through fastpass the first time and then single rider 2 more times, it was walk-on.

I have no problem with people doing that. Like mom2rtk said, it would only be an issue to me if the couple then complained about being split up. In our case though, we don't chose to use it. I'd rather wait in line with my wife, or skip the ride and do something else with her. Why, I don't know sometimes... :duck: :D

My kids on the other hand...they're do single rider if given the opportunity.

Cheating is an interesting take on the single rider line. It's about how you want to ride, not how you are visiting the parks.

It actually makes standby shorter because it's rides where there is commonly extra seats and they need single riders to fill them on so you actually wait longer when people don't use single rider. If rides go out with empty seats so they don't break up people who are with each other it just means less people per hour get to ride it so longer lines.. It's no different than soarin or dinosaur that don't have single rider and they commonly call for smaller parties to jump ahead in line because they have room for them making it more efficient use of the ride vehicles to get more people on the ride faster.

You still wait in line together. It's just the few minutes of the ride itself where you're not going to be next to each other.

I don't understand how people would rather wait way longer (or even skip the ride) just to avoid not being next to each other for the few minutes of the ride!
