Do owners get better locations/requests?

Anyone know if you own at a resort (in my case OKW). Would my request for room location trump someone who’s a non-owner? Also can non-owners get the best location? (Like at OKW near hospitality) is that an option for non- owner?

When you say 'non-owner', I assume you mean someone who owns points at a different DVC resort (and can only book at 7 months?)? If so, I really doubt there's an advantage for the actual OKW owner putting in a room request over someone else.

And if the 'non-owner' uses their points at 7 months to book, and there's availability 'near hospitality house', which is an actual booking category, the non-owner would definitely be able to book it. Near the hospitality house isn't a room request, but is booked that way, when available.

A request is a request the resort does not know who owns where. OKW has a bookable Near Hospitality house but I warn there are some rooms with pretty bad views.

No but there was a rumor that they were going to turn requests and waitlisting in to some $20- $30 a month DVC add on service that only direct members can subscribe to… I can’t wait for that to come… they have been pretty quiet about it though. I think there were rumblings of a lawsuit if that happened.

Do you mean that you could only make requests if you paid $20-$30 every month, even if you only used your DVC once or twice a year?
