Please do not book future resort or package stays with Explore the Magic Travel Agency. I booked our honeymoon through one of their agents and have had the worst experience which has now just ended and left me in tears. We booked about 8 months ago and on 1/1 when the discount code for January came out i told my TA to please apply it to our reservation. She said she would and would call me with confirmation within the hour. She never called me back. I've tried for the past four days to email and call her in hopes of contacting her to find out about this code. Finally i called disney myself, made a new reservation and applied the code myself. I then sent her an email requesting she cancel our package. Amazingly i got a response within 10 MINUTES and she was quite rude. I asked her to please not cancel our ADR's but she said that they may be canceled when she cancels the package, so she can't guarantee that.... Please be careful when considering using Explore the Magic!!!!!

Sorry to hear about your bad experience, but now at least you know for next time right? Also, I wouldn't worry about your ADR's, from what I've been told and experienced they are in NO way attached to your vacation package, they are completely separate from that. Calling WDW-Dine should confirm this if you are still wondering. All the drama aside, have a great trip and enjoy your honeymoon!

Your agent may cancel the reservations if they were made through the agent.

Is there any way i can call disney and change the ADR's to where she can't cancel them?? Like put them in name?? I have all of the confirmation numbers. I'm just worried because judging by how rude and spiteful her email was, i wouldn't be surprised if she canceled our ADR's even though i asked her not too.

I don't know if it will work, but I would call Disney Dining and explain that you just left a travel agent, and you're worried they might cancel your ADRs. Tell them you don't want anyone except yourself to be able to alter them. Like I said, it might not work, but it's worth a try!

You would have to use another phone number when making the ADR's. They are cross referenced by the guests phone number.

What I was getting at is that the ADRs and package are not the same; hence cancelling the package does note automatically cancel out the ADRs, she would have to make a separate phone call to do that

You can always call Dining and make a new reservation using a cell phone number or a phone number you did not use. You can simply put them with your first initial and last name ... or that of you future hubby ... etc. The TA though would have to make a direct call to dining to cancel them, though. They will not be automatically cancelled with the package.

Called Disney Dining and explained to CM the issue with TA and that it wouldn't surprise me if she canceled our ADR's. CM said there was nothing she could do. Called Customer Service and they transferred me back to dining. This time, different CM and she was VERY understanding and helpful!!! She took down all of my current ADR's and confirmation numbers and then re-booked each one of them for the same time (we had to move 2 but only by 10 minutes) and then canceled the one's our TA had booked. That way the ADR's would be in a different name and had a different phone number. She spend well over an hour on the phone with me and I was very thankful!!! She couldn't get re-book Le Cellier for us because it was fully booked so she just made a note on the reservation saying only me or DF could change or cancel reservations and not our TA. Also, our TA actually had left one ADR off that I had asked for!!! She took my credit card info in order to make a reservation at California Grill on 1/7. I never received a confirmation number for this one even after requesting it 2 or 3 times. Turns out she never actually made the reservation.... So luckily there was an opening and the CM booked it for us. This has been quite an ordeal and I hope everything is settled now!!!

Sorry for your bad experience but I'd like to say don't use Dreams Unlimited either. I had a bad experience with them and refuse to ever book through them again. I'm back to booking things myself.

what happened? I was thinking of using them on our next trip...
I've used DU many times and had wonderful service. I'm sure that there are agents that may be better than others. If someone uses DU and finds that their agent doesn't meet their expectations, perhaps they could ask to be moved to a different agent.
I normally do all my own stuff now, since we bought DVC. But I do miss the interaction I used to have with my agent Shirley.

To the OP...I'm so sorry you had a bad experience. We had a similar one with a TA but it wasn't a supposedly WDW knowledgable one. I didn't know any better back in '99, since it was my first trip to WDW. I really wanted CRT for my dd's 6th birthday breakfast. The agent called me the week before we were supposed to be leaving to tell me that she hadn't been able to book the meal for us..that it was booked solid!!! Obviously had no clue as to the mechanics of PSs back then. Wasn't a trip breaker, but it sure taught me a lesson. Get knowledgable and take care of things myself. I only used DU when I went back to work and was not able to sit by the computer and watch for the great discounts that came out back in '01-'04.

I am sorry OP had a rough time.

We are using Dreams Unlimited, and are quite happy with their responsiveness. I did book our last Disney vacation myself, and it wasn't fun for me. I'm a busy person who has more than enough to do without being on eagle eye code watch. I learned my lesson. It's great leaving it with them. I can go on about my life, travels, etc without worrying about what I'm missing.

OP, I'm sorry that this happened to you, but am glad that you were able to get everything worked out.

Have booked numerous trips through DU, all with the same agent although others have had to "fill in" in a pinch for things. Never had ANY trouble whatsoever. I second the statement to seek out another agent within anagenc if you are having difficulties.

I am so sorry to hear about this especially since it is your honeymoon!!!

I always use DU they take all the worry out of making ADR's. That way you can always go to your itinerary on their website and check all of the ADR's you requested and the confirmation numbers are listed. If a discount comes out they will automatically apply to your reservation if possible.

I know we cannot post names of which TA's to use, but if anyone is in need of a good TA, please pm me and I would be happy to give you the name of mine... :thumbsup2 I have never had a problem with her and have personally known her since the 70's.. ok, so I am giving away our age somewhat.... :lmao:

Do you remeber the CM's stage name. I believe that all of the Dining and CRO CMs have unique "names." This kind of Pixie Dust deserves praise. You might want to call back and talk to a supervisor.

Since you've now hired yourself as your own Disney expert, you might want to check out the Unofficial Guide and mousesavers dot com.

Best of luck!

Okay, Newbie to WDW here, only one trip so far, but WHY doesn't everyone use CRO or Disney Travel. I will SWEAR to you that I have had BETTER if not the BEST pricing and also service from them. I just don't understand, give this newbie some schooling. . .
