Do Not Trade Fastpass With Anyone!

Our daughter got us all fast passes for Star Tours. A guy came up to her and offered to trade His passes that had a much earlier time (just 20 min wait). Our daughter was so happy she willingly gave him our fast passes and took His. But, when she looked at His passes they were dated (The day before)!!! He quickly ran off.
So sad. I immediately went to a cast member and told him what happened. Disney Magic surrounded us. This wonderful cast member gave us 2 all ride passes for up to 6 people (we had a party of 6). And we also were allowed to immediately ride Star Tours. WOW! Our sad faces turned to happy happy smiles!

Like most criminals, I'm sure this wasn't the first time he did this and won't be the last. And I'm pretty sure I would've hunted that dude down and made him think twice before he tried that again. One thing you don't do is mess with my vacation.

On a similar note, be careful who you pin trade with as well. There's a woman who hangs around the pin trading boards with a bag of scrappers who will feed you a sob story about collecting pins for her grandkids. She's just trying to scam people out of real pins so she can trade with CMs and get rid of her worthless junk. Her pins have chipped enamel and rough edges, they are all scrappers.

Sorry that happened & I agree, whoever did this, wasn't the first time. But I'm glad the cast members were able to make things right!

Most people shouldn't need to "trade fast passes" in the first place.

I always just give my fast passes away if I can't use them.

That's the one thing I love about disney. Whenever you feel sad, angry, or cheated, they always intervene to make everything right. Something that rarely happens at other amusement parks. I am glad that everything turned out great for you in the end!

Well, I think it's more "buyer beware" than do not trade with anyone. I'm very sorry someone tried to cheat your daughter, but I think the lesson to learn is to check the details and don't kindly trust a stranger. I'm glad CMs made things better for your family.

And what would you have done after hunting him down?!? Such strong aggression. It's fast passes, not your life's savings.

I agree with "Disney Dreams" - carefully check the fastpass but I wouldn't categorically say never trade them. Last week we had a 11am-12pm FP for Haunted Mansion but then ended up stuck on Tom Sawyer's island because the river boat went by then the pirate ship backed out of it's spot and the raft was stuck on the other side. We ended up back on land at 11:15 (20 min delay) and had an 11:30 ADR at BB. So DD tried to get to the HM FP line to see if anyone getting a FP for right now wanted to trade. He found lots of takers but no parties of 3 so he came back to BB. Turns out BB was able to give us a voucher that had our original FP's stapled on top that we could use anytime (well I think it was anytime in the next 14 or 30 days -don't recall). But we were honest folks wanting to get a later FP return time- not that skum bag mentioned in the first post.

I've had to trade also. Got FP for RSR at the same time I had reservations at BBB. Buyer beware, check the dates and times. Glad the CM worked it out for you!
