Do not see the movie paranormal activity

What a waste of time. It is filmed with a handheld camera. It gave me a major headache and I'm assuming if you have any motion sickness problems you'd be nauseous. It was slow and boring, and I'm really hard to believe that people would sleep through half of what supposedly went on. This is allegedly the "scariest movie of the decade" There is nothing scary about it. I love horror movies. I adore psychological thrillers, this is neither one, just a piece of junk.

Yours is the first negative review I've seen. A LOT of people seem to really like this thing with a few people I know having seen it more than once.

I won't discount your review though! I will see it eventually and then we'll see.

I kind of felt the same way about the Blair Witch Project. It was hyped so much and when I saw it, I didn't think it was scary at all -- and the bouncing hand-held camera made me feel nauseous. I was motion-sick throughout the movie.

I'm going to skip Paranormal Activity.

Thanks for the heads up. Modern horror films never cease to let me down. Even the ones like this which look promising. The best horror films are still from the 70's, 80's (imo).

I just got back from seeing it. I didn't have any motion-sickness issues (I usually don't), but the movie was definitely wayyy overrated.

It was just like Blair Witch - the last 10 minutes were freakiest part. The rest of the time it just sounded like the ghost was doing laundry in their house.

One of my friends saw this last night and also called it slow moving and not scary. We will probably wait until DVD. I'm not really a fan of that hand-held camera look.

The hand-held wasn't nearly as bad as Cloverfield or Blair Witch, but the fact that them using the camera was clearly provoking whatever was after her, it was just ridiculous that they kept filming.
