I figured a title like that would get people's attention. Since the beginning of time people have proved that they cannot resist the forbidden fruit. Tell Adam and Eve not to eat the fruit, what do they do? Eat it. You tell Lot's wife not to turn around, what does she do? Turns around. You tell a bunch of strangers not to look at a trip report, what do they do? ...

So anyway, I'm writing this for my gals(and couple guys). I didn't want to post all my ginormous pictures at our hang out because BabyN only has dial up. (love ya BabyN!) If anyone else actually reads it that's just gravy.

It's a little diddy about my husband, Chad and myself getting away for the weekend.

Heavens knows we need it. We have five kids. Not just five, five BOYS. They range in age from 8 years to 10 months. They never stop. They can be playing outside all day and when they come in at dark they are still going. :upsidedow And I homeschool them, so I am with them 24/7. Which can be very challenging to say the least.

So I booked a little trip for 2 nights at All Star Music. And then I began preparing for this trip. It took a lot of preparation because the 10 month old is nursing and he likes to nurse a lot. So I wanted to make sure to leave him with more than enough bottles of liquid gold.

Our trip started off good. We got on the road at 12:48, twelve minutes ahead of schedule. Turns out that helped since we had to stop 20 minutes away to get some lunch. That's where we lost about 10 of those 12 minutes. We made them up between Labelle and Sebring where the speedometer didn't see any numbers under 70. Thankfully all the budget cuts in Florida Counties also meant less police on the road. In fact, we didn't see any. We saw plenty of police cars, but they had "dummy" officers in them. :lmao: Usually HWY 27 is crawling with Florida State Patrol and local police. Great for us. :thumbsup2

We actually had to make one other stop, I had to pee. Five children have really taken a toll on my bladder. :headache:
IMG_2022.jpg

We still made amazing time and by 3:30 we were in Orlando.
IMG_2025.jpg

We came in exit 62 and so we didn't get to go directly under the sign. :guilty:

There was no line at check in and by 4:00pm we were settled in our room. Which was far, far, faaaaaaaarr away. Holy cow, I’ve heard people talk about those Country Fair buildings being “way out there” and they are. Of course, I don’t mind. I never mind the walk at a Disney Resort. The more of the Resort you get to see the better the experience. But, it really was out there. It just felt far away. What with the end of the parking lot and the cess pool right outside our door.

IMG_2026.jpg

We were on the second floor, room 5553. It took us a while to find it, even with the signs. We haven’t been to ASMusic in a long time. It was the first Disney Resort we stayed at on our very first Disney World family vacation, back when we only had 3 children.

I love the changes to the rooms. They look nice and ours was super clean.

 MommyP. I figured since you moved your trip report for lil ol me, the least I can do is stop by and say Howdy. I think I will load the pics while I hop in the shower. Glad you and Chad had a nice getaway.

I'm here too! Awww what a cute couple.

You know we love pictures. I see you took both camera's with you since one is in our hand. That means lots more pictures to come I hope.

BabyN - I remember those days of dial up well. I could never watch peoples youtube links, pictures took forever to load. I don't think I could ever go back to those days again. ;) Thanks for reading!

Nab - Yes, we brought both. lol. I gave him the little one, with instructions to take pictures from his point of view. lol. Not so sure that was a good thing. There are a lot more pictures to come!

:lmao: Hahaha! Love the name of your report, MommyP!

Great start. I'm glad you and Chad had a chance to get away for a few days.

Hey, MommyP, I'm here too!

Great start, love the pics. I agree with Moo about the title

5 boys!!!!!:scared1: I have 3 boys and that is more than enough for me!
That's what I said 3 boys ago. I keep thinking my odds have to be look better for a girl, "next" time. But evidently they aren't. :rotfl:

lol. I know I always click on the threads that say,"please delete" "nothing to see here". So I figured it might work for other people too. ;)

Day 1, part 2
The plan was to go to the Magic Kingdom. I had discussed this plan with my husband before we left. His words to me were, ”I don’t want to know how much it costs, I just want you to plan it and for us to have a good time.” Those are his exact words spoken to me less than 2 weeks before our trip when I tried to talk to him about what tickets to get and how much each option would cost.

You see, our original plan was to only go to Epcot on Saturday, but I was going to get the Florida Resident 4 Day Play Pass with park hopping because we had a planned trip for over Christmas with the kids. We had to cancel that trip though because Chad’s job wasn’t allowing overtime anymore and we had several weeks of less than 40 hour pay checks. So I figured we would still get those tickets because they are easily upgradeable to a Florida Resident Seasonal Pass for about $100. Or, better yet, lets just get the pass now because we plan on still taking the boys in 2009, plus we are going to be celebrating our 10 year anniversary in 2009 and we were planning to go to Disney to celebrate. The way I look at things is that it would be so stupid to spend $150.00 for two 1 day tickets to Epcot when for $500 we can get 2 AP’s. Am I right? I knew that we had a zero percent APR credit card to put it on until our tax return and we also had the money in the bank to back it up. So, anyway, back to the trip…

We were on our way to the Magic Kingdom and I brought up the subject of tickets because I knew when we got there if I suddenly said something about Seasonal Passes or the 4 Day Play Pass and he heard the total he would freak, EVEN though he had already told me to just do it. So, of course he was like,”we should just get the 1 day ticket for tomorrow and that’s it. I got upset and frustrated because he didn’t talk to me about this weeks ago we were now there and he was changing his mind. But my tears are no match for him. I hardly ever cry, only when I’m pregnant or just had a baby, so this little bout of waterworks was odd. But you just don’t tell your wife to plan something and say you don’t want to hear about it and then when you do hear about it, change your mind. At the last second, on your way to the Magic Kingdom. He should have known better. So we changed course again and headed back to the Magic Kingdom.

We went through the parking gate and then we ended up in parking for some golf thing. So we had to exit and use the secret little road that is stupid because people could totally avoid paying to park if they knew about it. We finally found a parking space super close and right under the monorail track. We walked up to the front via our feet...

*****WARNING! The following pictures were taken by my husband, from his point of view. *****

He takes pictures like the paparazzi
...and got our annual passes. And she shocked us with something I didn’t even know about, we each got free admission to 1 water park for 1 day between now and March. Score!

Passes in hand we hopped onto the Ferry. I took some pictures while we ferried.

Within no time we were walking under the train station and that’s when I was shocked by what I saw.

What the…

I mean really, I love the holiday decorations at Disney, but it’s November 7th for crying out loud! It just seemed off and very, very wrong.

There is something so freeing to be at WDW without your children. Do you know how easy it is to maneuver the crowds without a stroller and 2-3 kids walking? It’s so nice. I can actually hold my husbands hand, imagine that!

IMG_2068.jpg

We went to get FP’s for Space Mountain and then walked through Tomorrowland and Fantasyland. We decided to go to Philharmagic since there is never a wait there. It was good, but, not the same without the children. Heh.

Then we decided to eat, we were both hungry again. We went to Pinocchio Village Haus and had some dinner. It was, eh.

IMG_2076.jpg

IMG_2080.jpg

Then we walked to Frontierland, I wanted to do the Haunted Mansion, but Chad is weird. He can’t commit to a ride, he like wants to wander around and never actually stop for a ride. It’s annoying. So we didn’t do the HM, instead we went to BTMR. It said a 20 minute wait and it wasn’t even that long. It was the first time I rode in the dark and it was fun. I actually hadn’t gotten to ride the mountains in almost a year. Last time I sat out with the baby and the time before that I sat out with the baby, sadly there isn’t a ticket to swap being pregnant.

Thunder Mountain was fun and when we were done we went to Pirates, there was no wait there. I snapped some pictures, no flash.

IMG_2091.jpg

We got in line for The Jungle Cruise, but it was pretty long. It was going to be longer than the 20 minutes posted and I didn’t want to get stuck in Adventureland during the parade. So we headed over to use our Space FP.

First we stopped in at the Monster’s Inc thingamabob. They used Chad as Randal and he kinda choked for a minute. He wouldn’t “disappear” like Randal is supposed to do. Finally he pulled me in front of himself. Thanks for that.

We headed over to Space Mountain after the show. Now THAT was fun. I laugh/scream the entire time. It’s my favorite ride. The standby line was still REALLY long so we only got to ride once. We went to Buzz and waited about 10 minutes for that one. Chad got 999,999 before we even got to the Volcano room. So that sucked.

We came off that and stood on the bridge between the Hub and Tomorrowland and watched the end of Spectro.

IMG_2101.jpg

Then we decided to go. I really wanted to stay for Wishes, but it was still 30 minutes away and we didn’t really have anything else to do and I knew Chad was tired. He’s been working so much lately.

So we decided to call it a night and head back to our room. On our way down Mainstreet we stopped in at the glass store and watched them create some magic with molten glass. It was fascinating.

One our way out we heard that Wishes was delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. It still wasn’t going by the time we got to the parking lot. This is where we spent some time looking into other people’s vehicles. You see next year we are probably going to have to upgrade our vehicle. We have a Expedition that seats 8, we are a family of 7 and by next year we’ll probably be pregnant again(self inflicted) which means we will be at maximum capacity and we don’t plan on stopping there. So next year we plan on getting a 12 passenger van. We like the way the new Ford looks more than the Chevy, but in my researched the Chevy had more than twice the cargo space. And If you have so many kids you have to drive a passenger van, cargo space is important. So we wanted to see them in person. Thankfully a Disney parking lot is kinda like going to a car dealer without the haggling salesmen. There was a Ford parked right by us and a Chevy in the distance. So we walked over and looked into the Ford. More space in the back than our expedition at least. Then we got in the car and drove up and down the aisles in the Magic Kingdom parking lot like trying to find that one spot left at Walmart. We parked near the Chevy, hid from a family getting into a nearby minivan and then snuck up to peak in the back window. Holy cow, that’s a lot of room. You could pitch a tent back there and have a bonfire all while driving around your freakishly sized family. So now we are more torn. We really like the front end of the new Ford, but dang we could use that cargo space for groceries and vacation gear. And let’s face it, if, heaven forbid, we outGROW a 12 passenger van we can bolt some seatbelts down and throw some kids down there. ;)

After our little adventure we drove back to the resort. We walked up to the food court because Chad was hungry, but then we walked back because he wasn’t hungry enough to pay $6 for a hot dog. They were just finishing up a movie at the main pool. It was on a giant inflatable movie screen. I have to get one of those. We finally made it back to Country Fair and found our room, just as we left it. Every light in the room is on. Why is that? I never keep lights on at home, but bring me to a overpriced hotel room and I just can’t shut them off.

We showered and went to bed. I woke up several times falling off the bed because someone thought he should have the whole bed and I should sleep in the other bed. I have to remember to only book king rooms when they kids aren’t with us.

I LOVE that camera, amanda! Err. ANd Chad's photography skills are just as good as yours!
:rotfl:
were any of the resort christmas decorations up?

Wait...why does that sound like an insult? :rotfl:

Not at ASMu they weren't. None at Epcot either, or Animal Kingdom. DTD did however have a Christmas tree up. :confused3

I couldn't resist.:rolleyes1
But my tears are no match for him.
Works every time!:lmao:
sadly there isn’t a ticket to swap being pregnant.
There should be one so that the husband can help during the last trimester.

We have this problem at home with a queen bed....we blame the poms.:rolleyes1

Love the hair down.

And just to walk around and do what ever what a treat.

A 12 passenger van wow. I won't even drive the big honking truck we have. My hubby does that too in parking lots but he goes one step further, he we go and talk to the owners of that car and ask the gas mileage etc.

Carry on......

We have a king bed at home, which we share with our 3yo  with no problems. IDK what his problem was with sharing a full.

Thanks for reading!

Thanks Nab. It's just so hot and humid here that I only wear it during the few months of the year that I can stand it.

A 12 passenger van won't be much different than driving the expedition. I like driving bigger vehicles more than smaller ones. You can see better in them. I don't really enjoy parking them so much.

When we first got the expedition I would freak out on my way to any place that I knew didn't have slanted parking. I would always park super far away from any other cars so I didn't have to park in between 2 other cars.

Now a 15 passenger van is a little much, but wow, it would be amazing to have like a row per child. :cloud9:

You and Chad are so cute!

But.

Too tired for Wishes?

But not too tired to stalk the large capacity vehicles?

:lmao:

I just noticed your link in your siggy.

Silly me.

This is a dream of mine to go to Disney without the kids.

I don't think I could handle the guilt.

Maybe when the girls are older.

Alot older.

HI I'm enjoying reading your report! 5 boys what a blessing!

I'm leaving my three kids at home to go to WDW with Dh only for my next birthday so I can't wait to see how your weekend turns out.

How did your kids take the news that you were going without them?

They were bummed, but realize that the world doesn't revolve around them and Mommy and Daddy alone time sometimes has to come first. We have been going to WDW without them for a few years now, so they are used to it.

We brought them back legos. ;)

Just do it. Kids need to know that it's not always all about them. It keeps them grounded.

Thanks luther!
I know! I guess he got a second wind from all the exhaust in the parking lot.
