F1Julie said:For people who go to the parks for 7 days in one trip, I think the new tickets are great. When I go though, I go usually go to the parks for 2 days, 3 at the most. These new tickets don't help me out at all. To get a decent deal, I'll have to buy a 7 day ticket, add park hopping, and add no expiration. That's a lot of money to shell out for tickets that will last me 3 trips. I typically buy a 4 day hopper and use that over 2 trips. I'm hoping that the discount ticket brokers continue to carry park hoppers (especially the 2 and 3 day versions that Disney doesn't sell to the public). Those really work great for me. Otherwise, we may not be going to WDW so often anymore. I have 2 days left on a hopper now. After I use them, that may be it.
The discount brokers will only have what is in their current stock after the 2nd of the year. After that, Disney will completely discontinue all the other tickets. Just like they won't be available for you to purchase, nor will the brokers be able to purchase them.
A 3 day hopper from the brokers typically cost about $175. So - for 6 days of hopping, you'd be paying $350.
With Magic Your Way, you can purchase a 7 day, non-expiring, park hopper and you'll be getting 7 days of park hopping for just under $300. (The total is $296 and some change)
Yes you'll have to put more money out up front, but the Magic Your Way is more admission for less money.
If thats what someone needs, they can be a great deal. However if you want to hop and not expire, and dont want a lot of days, then it can be a bad deal compared to the current PHs. I think it all really depends on what a person is looking for whether its good or bad.
Maybe, if enough people complain about that aspect of this new system, Disney can come up with another way of tracking the passes.
