Do Not Disturb Gone! (BLT)

Disney can't supervise the housekeepers to get them to do a great job when cleaning the rooms, I don't see them doing a great job inspecting our room. IMO this whole thing is for show and to limit their liability. Give it a few months and this will fade like other security concerns until the next thing happens.

:earsboy: Bill

I made jokes about them coming in the room in a previous post but seriously, if it keeps me and my family safe, who cares what the look for. And those that are so worried about people looking through your stuff, just don’t go to Disney! No one is forcing you to stay at a Disney Resort. If you know their policy, make a decision.

Another few days at poly and still no problems. Have not been disturbed. Naps have not been a problem. Nothing seems different than previous stays, except the “off to neverland” door tag. Has been 4 days now. :-)

Did you have housekeeping make up your room while you were out?

Yes. At Disney We have always requested housekeeping come before 1pm. Otherwise, we have not seen anyone and have napped everyday but one from 1:30-3:30ish. And kids are usually in bed by 9, no one has disturbed us at all when we have been in our room and essentially we do parks only in the morning..

The dog thread was sooooooo much worse and that's saying something.

Imagine then this thread if they decide to incorporate dogs as part of the security sweep.

However, it may make more sense and be less intrusive to folks if it was just someone with a specially trained dog walking down the halls without actually going into any room unless the dog picks up on something.

If you're okay with this, that's cool.

But everyone has their own personal feelings about their right to privacy and reasons for not wanting to be disturbed. It clearly hit a nerve with some, just as the dogs in Disney resorts thread did.

Mocking people who have high levels of concern is not cool.

No need for the reprimand. There are repeated posts/posters on here that are so outlandish that the only conclusion can be pot stirring.

Security thread + Dog thread???

I think you just crossed the streams, Ray!

OMG - the CryoFreezer33 website mentioned above is SO funny. Love this bit: "Partners in life and partners in death: In the dark catacombs underneath Club 33 and 'The Pirates of the Caribbean' ride at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, Walt Disney's frozen head awaits to be thawed out of his exclusive, executive cryo-sleep chamber, dubbed ‘Cryo-Freezer 33,’ so that he can once again unleash the full power of his brand of evil terror upon the world". It's worth it just to scroll down and read the headlines. It's like a "National Enquirer" for Disney.

As in the movie, sometimes you have to cross the streams ;)

As the post below yours indicates there are already dogs inspecting all over WDW. I mean aren't there already "bed bug beagles?"

Im pretty disappointed with all the pouting on this thread, as others have said if you dont like the new policy, stay elsewhere. Disney is doing the best they reasonably can to keep people safe, imagine the alternative: something like what happened in las Vegas happening at WDW.

I think belittling others falls in that pot stirring category. There are many opinions out there that I will never understand. I just don't see the need to put people down because of it.

Okay! We will have to agree to disagree on the validity of the feelings of some of these posters. You think it's real concern, I don't.

Regardless, this post and their posts are really useless, so let's just stay on topic.

I can't imagine when people's feelings aren't valid. How fortunate for you that you haven't had harrowing real life experiences and that your life experiences allow you to be flippant with those of us who have.

So I'm not going entertain you with a message board fight .

Enjoy your upcoming vacations all!
Some people come to the battle armed with nothing more than name-calling and ad hominem attacks. No one here knows anything about any other poster's life experiences. Those types of sarcastic comments are unfortunate because they degrade the discussion and are entirely disrespectful.

Edited: I'm sorry if I was unclear, Farro. I was referring to the post presumptuously commenting on your life experiences, not your posts.

Except..this is little (likely nothing) more, than a Disney CYA. It may make some folks "feel" better/safer. In reality, it's nothing more than an invasion of privacy and a huge nuisance. (IMO another unwanted/unnecessary expense added to my vacation).

I was upset at first and Im still not thrilled about it but I understand the reasons for it, its really sad but I guess thats the way the world is going now a days.. Thing I wonder about is lots of ppl are celebrating honeymoon, anniversaries... What if someone is "occupied" lol How embarrassing..
