Do Not Buy a Dell Computer

What was your configuration? I'm just wondering what is holding mine up since I ordered on 12/31.

We upgraded the memory slightly, and bumped the size of the HD to 320gb's. Opted to go with Windows 7 Home Premium, and a color lid. We did not upgrade to the Blu Ray, so maybe that's your sticking point ? Hope its on your doorstep soon.

Well, I did not get the Blu-ray, but I ordered one of their preconfigurations that included the discreet graphics, so that could be the problem, or it could be that my unit is coming with a dual core processor. I understand that there will be shortages, I just feel that Dell advertised these things like crazy and then can't meet demand. I also wonder if demand was so much higher than expected, that they want to delay anyone that got a great deal in hopes that they will cancel the order so they can sell that same unit to another customer at a higher price. I'm also annoyed that they are not giving any information other than the "reply now or face cancelation" messages.

I know this doesn't really help but....I ordered a custom HP desktop with a great new Intel processor and quite a few upgrades last Weds. It shipped today (Friday). Thumbs up to the HP store.

Yes, I do... I would trust Nvidia and EVGA way more then I would trust a random review. I have seen what having a power supply that is not adequate can do to a computer.

OP, if you ordered it around Christmas, the processors have already changed - from Pentium/Dual Core Pentium to I3, I5, etc... it won't be obsolete, but will not be the "latest thing". Sorry!

And the thing with the new processors is that they will be using the new DDR3 memory. As time goes on it will get harder and harder to find the DDR2 that is used on the duel and quad cores.

This thing is a MONSTER! I will be adding a second hard drive for general storage. The raptor is mostly for the OS as it is a fast boot.
