Do new reservations ever open up?

So I was waiting for my disney redemption card to show up to buy tickets and make reservations and now California Adventure is sold out for our dates. Do new reservations ever show up? Like, if people cancel. Should I just book Disneyland, and if I do and California Adventure shows up later, can I switch? This is my fault and I get it if I just am out of luck.

Reservations open up all the time so keep checking. Once you book, there is no way to "switch" other than to cancel the existing reservations and book a new one.

Yes reservations open up all the time. Especially as it gets closer. You can always book at DLH as your back up and if it opens up they can reserve at GCH and transfer funds you already paid.

Are you going those dates regardless? If so, book DL so you at least have a park reservation. As PP mentioned, you can always cancel and change it to DCA if it opens up. Why they don't have it as an easy switch is anyone's guess -- but this is Disney IT, so there is your answer.

This happened to us back in July and it opened up by the time we went. It wasn't a big deal to cancel park reservation and rebook. Just keep checking. Good luck!
