Do most airlines have WiFi on board now?

And just so you know how much it will cost ...

Thank you very much!!!! :thumbsup2

It's amazing how United makes it sound so positive by stating, "United's entire p.s.® fleet is now Wi-Fi enabled."

United's p.s. fleet represents just a tiny fraction of United's entire fleet. United is trailing the industry when it comes to Wi-Fi. They seem to be taking a wait-and-see attitude.

The major Wi-Fi provider for domestic airlines is Aircell, doing business as GoGo Inflight Internet: http://www.gogoinflight.com/

AirTran Airways and Virgin America have Wi-Fi on rolled out to their entire fleets. Delta Air Lines has Wi-Fi on their entire mainline fleet, but not in their regional jets. Other airlines are at various stages. For the status of airlines by aircraft type, see http://www.gogoinflight.com/gogo/cms/airlines.do

Southwest is using a different Wi-Fi provider, Row 44: http://www.row44.com/

Southwest Airlines is supposed to have Wi-Fi installed fleetwide some time in 2013.

I agree that they make it sound so good, but it is on only a small amount of planes..... I had actually copied this quote to post here....

United now offers Gogo® Inflight Internet service on all p.s.® premium service transcontinental flights, which are available between New York (JFK) and both Los Angeles (LAX) and San Francisco (SFO).

I am flying MSP-DEN-RNO in June and am on A319's, hence no internet..... Yet, my Airtran flights have internet since all Airtran aircraft have wifi.

I signed up for Gogo, but when I try to purchase....it takes me to a site that is not available ( trial pay... ). I attached a credit card to my Gogo account, but how am I supose to pre purchase some time?

Anyone else have this problem?

You don't. You buy on the plane. Cost will depend on flight. Registering will make it faster on the plane.

Then why is there an option to pre-purchase?:confused3

It is cheaper to buy ahead of time and the ones I am looking at for the three of us is an all day pass for $11.00 each. Total for 24 hrs $33.00.

We have a connecting flight and will be traveling for over 9 hours( total on two flights.)
Other wise, if we wait to purchase on the plane, it will be 12.95, each leg. Thats $75 to stay connected......Won't be paying that....

Try again.. the site may have been down.... I just clicked on "buy now" and got to the payment page.... I didn't want to go any farther, but assume all would be good.

No kidding! I fly UA all the time and not once have I been on a wi-fi enabled plane. Not a problem though; I can go for many hours without web access!
