I was just wondering. Do they ever change the menu's in restaurants on Disney property. We went to BOG for dinner this past trip. Will the dinner entrees be the exact same if we return next year?

Yes, the menu's do change. Its up to the head chef and is somewhat dependent on the availability (seasonality) of some of the ingredients.

Yes menus will change some, though usually it's not an entire make over. It's typically retiring a dish or two at a time in favor of one or two new ones and even that doesn't happen that frequently. There are also some smaller tweaks such as Scallops may have a different type of risotto, and that risotto may change based on seasonal ingredients.

Yes menus change all the time. But it is usually an entrée here, a side there. But you can not count on a menu posted online today being the menu when you dine

Allears.net will have specific dates on their menu and Disney's site is usually pretty good about updating their menu. If it's a serious issue then you can always call up Disney just before your trip and have them check.

Signatures tend to change the most, especially if they specialize in seafood: what is fresh and can be shipped in quick and cheap changes by the day.

Next come the vegetables: almost every restaurant will change their veggies and salads by what's in season (fruits, too). Almost ever place on property will have a steak; what is served with the steak will depend on what's in season.

Then, seasonal foods in general change. Squash isn't too hard to get all year, but you'll be much more likely to see a squash soup on Fall and Winter menus then on the Spring and Summer (likewise, cold soups generally disappear during the Fall and Winter). Pumpkin tends to be fall and fall alone, as so many people associate it with Thanksgiving and would get confused seeing it in say, July. Corn, on the other hand, doesn't usually appear in February.

Finally, chef's do like to play around, test their wings and play with what they have. If an item is particularly trendy, it'll probably pop up: kale was the 'it' vegetable for a while and showed up everywhere, before now just occasionally sitting around. If a certain crop does really well, it'll be focused on no matter what: I went to Disney one year when Pears were doing awesome, and it seemed like every place had a pear dessert. And, of course, no chef wants a restaurant that stagnates and never changed: new things will be added as things they don't think do as well, serve their purposes as well, or represent their restaurants as well quietly fade away.

So, basically: the main part will usually be the same, though it may come from different places, and seafood in particular is more likely to change. Sides, pasta dishes, and vegetarian dishes will change entirely. Entrees are more likely to stick around the appetizers and desserts, save for items that have become 'signature' to that place, and even they may be altered in small ways.

According to Josh at EasyWDW, the menus are updated (and some price increases occur) at the end of August for QS and October for TS (in addition to other possible changes throughout the year). Josh's recent blog posts have highlighted some of the recent changes to the QS menus throughout the parks. :thumbsup2 It appears to be just a few changes here and there and not a complete overhaul.

Yes, they change. We were disappointed to have had a different menu at Le Cellier this past Mother's Day than what had been posted online for months and continued to be online for months after. So you don't always get any notice when it has happened. They still had a lot of the same items but they eliminated their pork dishes which were the ones I was looking forward to trying. The server said the menu there is always changing. I'm not sure if that's the case or not.

We've been to other restaurants several times over the years without noticing much of anything changing. So, it seems hit or miss.

Yes, of course menus change. Some restaurants change more often than others. Usually it's only one or two items at a time. You would almost never see a complete change of menu. But this is why I never post on threads asking some variation of "What should I order at XYZ restaurant?" There is no guarantee that by the time you're there that the item will still be there.

They tend to abbreviate the menus attend the holidays, too.

I agree with a PP who indicated that Signatures seem to change the most. That said, I would say that resort Signatures in particular change most often. I haven't noticed a lot of changes to restaurant menus in the Parks. Just my two cents----take them for what they're worth.
